Regional Deaf Services Coordinator

Are you a licensed behavioral health professional passionate about providing accessible, person-centered care to individuals who are Deaf, Hard of Hearing, Late Deafened, or Deaf/Blind? Valley Community Services Board (VCSB) is seeking a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) to serve as our Regional Counselor for the Deaf.

This full-time position provides specialized behavioral health services throughout the region, including individual, marital, and family therapy, clinical assessments, consultation, and support for individuals and families. You’ll work with clients across Region I Community Services Boards, Blue Ridge Behavioral Health, and the Virginia School for the Deaf, helping ensure individuals have access to behavioral health services that meet their unique communication and support needs.

You’ll also serve as a resource to other behavioral health professionals and community agencies, providing consultation on working with individuals who are Deaf, Hard of Hearing, Late Deafened, or Deaf/Blind. The position is supervised by the State Coordinator for Services for Persons who are Deaf, Hard of Hearing, Late Deafened or Deaf/Blind.

Starting pay of $55,124.93–$84,524.66 per year, dependent upon education and experience.

Non-licensed clinician: $55,124.93–$59,022.04

Licensed clinician: $60,637.42–$84,524.66

What You'll Do

Conduct intake interviews and comprehensive clinical assessments to determine clients’ needs and appropriate services.

Provide individual, marital, and family therapy to individuals who are Deaf, Hard of Hearing, Late Deafened, or Deaf/Blind and their families throughout Region I and as needed for Blue Ridge Behavioral Health.

Provide weekly intake, assessment, individual, and family therapy services for individuals at the Virginia School for the Deaf.

Consult with VCSB and regional clinical staff who provide services to individuals who are Deaf, Hard of Hearing, Late Deafened, or Deaf/Blind.

Provide consultation and support to service delivery agencies throughout the region regarding communication access and effective behavioral health services.

Work one day per week with Rappahannock Area Community Services Board (RACSB) under an annual agreement between the agencies.

Develop programs and activities that address the identified needs of the population served.

Serve as a resource to community agencies and behavioral health providers working with individuals who are Deaf, Hard of Hearing, Late Deafened, or Deaf/Blind.

Coordinate American Sign Language interpreter requests for VCSB.
