Tax Season Intern
Descriptive Title: Tax Season Intern – January through April Job Reports To: Tax Dept, Accounting Staff, Tax Admin Operations Manager Exempt/Nonexempt: Non-exempt JOB SUMMARY This role requires a commitment of approximately 20+ hours per week from mid January through mid-April. Schedules can be flexible to accommodate class schedules. The responsibilities of this internship may include, but are not limited to~ • Preparing individual and fiduciary tax returns using firm provided software • Assisting accountants in preparing tax planning for individual clients • Developing basic knowledge of accounting and tax concepts • Basic understanding of copying and processing all types of tax returns, including corporate, trusts, gift tax, nonprofit, pension administration, personal returns, and extensions. • Maintaining portal, to include adding staff, updating clients, uploading files. • Other accounting and support responsibilities as assigned MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS • Progress towards an undergraduate and/or graduate degree in Accounting or a related field • Future plans to obtain CPA or EA license • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Ability to work both independently and in a team setting • Expertise in organization and time management; ability to adhere to time budgets • Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite This position is contingent on the satisfactory completion of a background check.
