Electoral Canvasser [PAID] - Charlotte NC

Position Summary

MF Professional Services (MFPS) is seeking Electoral Canvassers to support voter outreach and mobilization efforts on behalf of its clients, including Mi Familia Vota (MFV) and Mi Familia en Acción (MFA).

Electoral Canvassers engage directly with voters in Latino communities through door-to-door canvassing, community outreach, voter education, voter registration, and Get Out the Vote (GOTV) activities. This is a seasonal, part-time, field-based position scheduled for up to 30 hours per week.

Key Responsibilities

  • Canvass assigned neighborhoods, businesses, community locations, and public events.
  • Engage voters using approved scripts, talking points, and campaign materials.
  • Educate community members about voting, voter registration, voting by mail, and other approved electoral information.
  • Support voter identification, registration, engagement, and GOTV activities.
  • Accurately collect and record voter-contact information and canvassing results.
  • Use VAN, MiniVAN, mobile applications, or other approved outreach tools.
  • Follow assigned turf, schedules, goals, check-in procedures, and reporting requirements.
  • Protect voter information and voter-registration materials.
  • Follow all voter-registration, data-security, safety, and organizational procedures.
  • Participate in required trainings, briefings, coaching, and team activities.

Qualifications

  • Previous canvassing, campaign, voter-registration, community outreach, organizing, customer service, sales, or other public-facing experience preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Dependable, punctual, and comfortable working directly with the public.
  • Ability to follow scripts, instructions, and reporting procedures accurately.
  • Ability to use a smartphone, tablet, or mobile canvassing application.
  • Experience working with Latino or diverse communities preferred.
  • English/Spanish proficiency preferred.
  • Ability to work flexible daytime, evening, and Saturday schedules, up to 30 hours per week.

Work Environment

This is a field-based position requiring frequent walking and outdoor work in varying weather conditions. Employees may work in residential neighborhoods, businesses, community locations, public spaces, and events.

No specific degree is required. Relevant community, campaign, outreach, and lived experience will be considered.

 

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Passion and enthusiasm for promoting political engagement within the Latino community.
  • Legible handwriting is required. 
  • Must be able to work flexible hours. Some Saturday event participation is required.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with people at all levels and from various backgrounds.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred. 
  • Valid driver’s license, auto insurance, and a reliable vehicle, preferred
