Job Title: Math Tutor (Paraprofessional)

Do you want to help students feel confident in math?
Dyslexia Reading Connection®, a nonprofit organization, is seeking encouraging and knowledgeable math tutors to support students (K–12) and adults who struggle with numeracy. No tutoring experience is required—just a love of math, a willingness to follow a structured curriculum, and a desire to help students thrive one-on-one.
What You’ll Do
- Work one-on-one with students to build foundational and functional math skills
- Deliver structured, multisensory, concept-based math instruction using our proven curriculum
- Support students in developing confidence, reasoning, and problem-solving skills
- Track student progress and communicate regularly with families
- Attend paid training and receive ongoing coaching and support
Who You Are
- Passionate about numeracy and empowering students who struggle with math
- Patient, encouraging, and dependable
- Secure math skills from counting to pre-algebra
- Comfortable following structured curriculum and coaching
- Effective communicator who is able to work with diverse families and students
- Willing to make a commitment to your students (minimum 1 year)
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor’s degree preferred
- Experience with children or tutoring is a plus
- Successful caregiver background check required

Program Details

Schedule: 5 hours/week
Sessions are typically scheduled Monday–Thursday, 3:30–7:00 p.m. CST - Location: In person at our center, with some virtual opportunities
- Student load: Begin with 1–2 students; additional students are assigned after your first 30 days and observation are completed. Minimum commitment after 30 day: 3 students.
