Social Media Intern

Social Media & Affiliate Marketing Intern

Company: BERO
Location: New York City / Hybrid
Commitment: 16 hours per week (2 days per week)
Internship Dates: Mid-September–December 2026, with potential for extension
Compensation: $20/hour

About BERO

BERO is a premium non-alcoholic beer company creating exceptional beer for people who want more choice in how they drink and live. We are a fast-growing, predominantly remote startup with an ambitious team building a distinctive global brand.

The Opportunity

BERO is looking for a creative, digitally savvy Social Media & Affiliate Marketing Intern to support our growing social presence and affiliate community.

This is a hands-on opportunity for a New York City-based student interested in social media, creator partnerships, affiliate marketing, brand building, and startup life. You’ll work closely with BERO’s marketing team to identify cultural opportunities, develop engaging content, build relationships with creators and affiliates, and learn how a young consumer brand grows its community online.

We’re looking for someone who understands how people actually use social media—not just how brands think they use it. You should be curious about internet culture, comfortable identifying emerging creators and trends, and excited to bring fresh ideas to the table.

What You’ll Do

Social Media

  • Assist with planning and maintaining BERO’s social media calendar, while contributing content ideas across relevant platforms
  • Develop ideas for social-first content and have the opportunity to create and edit content, particularly for TikTok
  • Draft social copy and help create, edit, and organize short-form content
  • Monitor cultural conversations, platform trends, and competitor activity, and provide a monthly social trend report to the internal marketing team
  • Engage thoughtfully with BERO’s online community and assist with community management through our social media management platform, responding to comments, DMs, and inbound requests as needed
  • Identify timely opportunities for BERO to participate in relevant conversations, including emerging trends, cultural moments, events, and other opportunities for the brand to show up
  • Help organize and maintain BERO’s library of social content and creative assets by downloading and organizing incoming content and improving the structure and accuracy of our digital asset library
  • Support Social Media team in tracking content performance and share observations with the broader marketing team about what is resonating and where we can improve

In addition to supporting BERO’s day-to-day social and affiliate marketing efforts, you’ll have the opportunity to take ownership of a long-term project that addresses an ongoing team need. This could include improving a process, developing a new resource or tool, or identifying and executing an opportunity to strengthen BERO’s social or affiliate marketing efforts. The project will be scoped based on the team’s priorities and your interests and strengths.

Affiliate & Creator Marketing

  • Research creators, influencers, affiliates, and potential brand partners who align with BERO’s brand and audience, based on the team’s current needs and priorities
  • Support outreach, onboarding, and ongoing communication with affiliate partners
  • Help maintain affiliate contact lists, product-seeding records, and campaign trackers using affiliate-specific platforms and other internal tools as needed
  • Monitor affiliate activity and identify opportunities to strengthen participation and engagement
  • Assist with developing briefs, toolkits, and content ideas for creators and affiliates
  • Track affiliate content, engagement, traffic, and sales performance
  • Share ideas for expanding BERO’s presence within relevant creator and consumer communities

What Success Looks Like

By the end of the internship, we want you to have made tangible contributions to both the BERO team and your own professional development. Success in this role could include:

  • Helping to identify and build relationships with creators and affiliates who are a strong fit for BERO
  • Supporting the onboarding and activation of creators within BERO’s affiliate program
  • Contributing to the ideation, development, and execution of social and creator content
  • Creating monthly social trend reports that surface relevant cultural moments, platform trends, and actionable opportunities for BERO
  • Auditing and improving BERO’s digital asset library, including helping develop a more organized and accurate structure and reorganizing priority assets
  • Identifying new creators, trends, cultural moments, or partnership opportunities that the team can act on
  • Contributing to social and affiliate initiatives that drive meaningful engagement and results

What We’re Looking For

  • Currently enrolled in college, ideally studying marketing, communications, media, business, journalism, or a related field
  • Strong understanding of Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, and emerging social platforms
  • Genuine interest in social media, digital culture, creators, and consumer brands
  • Strong writing and communication skills
  • Available to work 2 days per week in BERO’s Soho office
  • Creative instincts and an eye for engaging, culturally relevant content
  • Organized, reliable, and comfortable managing several projects at once
  • Willingness to take initiative, ask questions, and work collaboratively
  • Comfortable working in a fast-moving startup environment
  • Interest in the non-alcoholic beverage, wellness, hospitality, or lifestyle space is a plus
  • Experience with Canva, CapCut, social scheduling platforms, affiliate tools, or analytics is helpful but not required

What You’ll Gain

  • Hands-on experience building the social and affiliate presence of a growing consumer brand
  • Exposure to creator partnerships, content strategy, community engagement, and campaign analytics
  • Experience working with affiliate marketing tools and programs
  • An understanding of how marketing decisions are made inside an early-stage company
  • Opportunities to contribute ideas and take ownership of meaningful projects
  • Mentorship and collaboration with experienced members of BERO’s marketing team
  • Portfolio-ready work and measurable campaign experience

How to Apply

Please submit your résumé and a brief note explaining why you’re interested in BERO and this internship. You may also include links to relevant social accounts, content, writing, campaigns, or creative work.

Formal marketing experience is not required. We’re most interested in your ideas, instincts, curiosity, and understanding of what makes people pay attention online.

In addition to your resume and interest in BERO, please also answer the prompt below:

Choose ONE of the following:

Option 1 — Creator Identification
Identify 3 creators you think BERO should consider working with. For each, briefly share who they are, why you think they’re a good fit for BERO, and how you would envision BERO working with them.

Option 2 — Social and Cultural Opportunity
Identify one current social trend, cultural moment, or creator conversation that you think BERO could authentically participate in. Briefly explain why it’s relevant to BERO and what you would have the brand do or post.

Keep your response brief. We’re more interested in understanding your approach and thought process, rather than a formal presentation.

BERO is committed to creating an inclusive workplace. We welcome applicants of all backgrounds and experiences.
