Part Time Afternoon/Evening ABA Behavior Technician

The Social Spectrum is seeking compassionate and motivated individuals to join our team as Behavior Technicians (BTs). In this role, you’ll work directly with children and young adults while gaining hands-on experience in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA).

This is a great opportunity for individuals interested in psychology, education, special education, speech therapy, occupational therapy, social work, behavior analysis, or related fields. No prior ABA experience is required; we provide comprehensive training and ongoing support.

The Social Spectrum provides center-based, in-home, and community-based ABA, occupational therapy, and speech services to individuals ages 18 months through 21 years throughout New Jersey.

Responsibilities

Under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), you will:

• Provide individualized, one-on-one ABA services
• Implement treatment plans and behavior support strategies
• Teach and support communication, social, behavioral, and daily living skills
• Collect accurate session data
• Complete required session documentation
• Communicate with BCBAs and other members of the clinical team regarding client progress
• Participate in ongoing training, supervision, and professional development

Schedule & Training

• Part-time position with a minimum availability of 15 hours per week
• Afternoon, evening, and weekend availability is needed
• Typical school-year hours include weekday afternoons/evenings and weekends
• Paid, comprehensive ABA training provided
• Ongoing supervision, mentorship, and professional development

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Experience working with children is preferred but not required
• ABA, special education, behavioral health, or related experience is a plus
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Dependable and able to maintain consistent attendance
• Reliable transportation to assigned work locations
• Valid driver's license
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Ability to perform the essential physical functions of the position, which may include sitting, standing, bending, walking, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States
