Position Overview
Solebury Strategic Communications is seeking a highly motivated and intellectually curious intern to support our Corporate Communications team. This internship offers hands-on exposure to financial communications, media relations, executive visibility programs and corporate reputation management.
The ideal candidate is a strong writer, strategic thinker and avid consumer of business news who is interested in how companies shape narratives, engage with the media and communicate with key stakeholders during critical business moments.
Responsibilities
The intern will work closely with senior team members and assist with:
- Monitoring and analyzing business, financial and industry news
- Researching reporters, publications, industry trends and media opportunities
- Developing media lists and maintaining media databases
- Supporting media relations programs, including drafting pitches and briefing materials
- Assisting with executive thought leadership initiatives and speaking opportunity research
- Drafting social media content, award submissions and background materials
- Conducting competitive and peer communications analysis
- Supporting client account teams on IPOs, M&A transactions, earnings announcements and other strategic communications initiatives
- Researching emerging industry topics and identifying newsworthy story angles
- Assisting with preparation of media training materials, Q&A documents and executive briefing books
- Helping compile client reporting and coverage analyses
Qualifications
- Current undergraduate student or recent graduate pursuing a degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, English, Business, Finance, Political Science or a related field
- Strong writing, editing and research skills
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational abilities
- Interest in business, finance, capital markets and corporate reputation
- Familiarity with major business and financial media outlets, including Bloomberg, Reuters, CNBC, The Wall Street Journal and Financial Times
- Ability to manage multiple assignments in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly PowerPoint and Excel
- Experience with student publications, communications organizations, internships or relevant extracurricular activities is a plus
