Assistant Site Quality Specialist - Construction (Chicago)
The Assistant Site Quality Specialist is responsible for confirming fabrication/installation activities including examination and testing are successfully performed and documented in accordance with the project drawings, specifications, governing codes of construction and prime agreement.
- Understand the implemented quality program associated with the scope of work.
- Support a definable area or group of work.
- Understand and utilize technical specifications to support a successful fabrication, installation or product and service.
- Assist the development and implementation of Inspection and Test Plans for project review and acceptance.
- Confirm material and equipment delivered is properly received, stored, and maintained as required by the implemented quality program, the manufacturer and the contract documents.
- Assist in tracking Welder to Weld traceability.
- Inspect fabricated/installed products and services to confirm they are in compliance with project specifications and drawings and results documented, as required.
- Assist in the review of quality verification documents to confirm all attributes are addressed as they are issued and confirm compliance with the specifications and drawings.
- Participate in the walk-down and turnover process and when required, perform and document acceptance inspections.
- Assist in performing assessments on key quality processes (e.g. document management, material management, measurement and test equipment, etc.) to confirm compliance with the implemented quality program.
- Assist in confirming conditions adverse to quality (non-conformances) are identified, segregated, documented and when required inspected as required by the disposition.
- Assist with Quality orientation as needed on the project site.
- Comply with all Safety & Health requirements and participate in the Task Safety Observations (TSO) to ensure adherence to safety standards.

Qualifications - External
- High School Diploma/GED and 4 years relevant experience in quality management. Required or
- Associate Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Welding Technology, Nondestructive Examination or related field. and 2 years relevant experience in quality management. Required or
- Bachelor Degree in Welding Engineering, Construction Management, Welding Technology, Nondestructive Examination or related field. Required
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
- Advanced technical writing experience required.
- Strong computer and communications media skills.
- Must be detailed oriented.
- Certified Welding Inspector-AWS Preferred
