Marketing Communications Intern

Location: 4108 Quebec Ave N, New Hope, MN 55427
Schedule: This is a hybrid work opportunity, with at least 2 days per week in our office for hands-on training and guidance. Time/days spent on job sites will vary. This position will work 15-20 hours per week.

Compensation: $17-$21/hour

Since 1950, Sheridan Sheet Metal has been a leader in architectural sheet metal across Minnesota. We fabricate and install high-end exterior metal systems including standing seam roofing, custom copper work, gutters, downspouts, and specialty flashing.

We control both fabrication and installation, allowing us to deliver a level of quality most competitors can’t match.

The Opportunity

Sheridan Sheet Metal is seeking a driven, digitally savvy marketing, communications, or business student (or recent graduate) to help elevate and expand our social media presence, feature our work throughout the community, create educational article content, and continue to expand the impact of our 75-year history in the Twin Cities.

This is a great opportunity for an emerging professional to start their work profile, build a portfolio, and hone their skills in the real world. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create social media and digital featurettes from a database of past and current projects.
  • Spend time on the shop floor and active job sites to take candid photos, record short-form video clips, and showcase our team’s expertise. 
  • Plan, assist with the creation of, and publish article content to our website and social media platforms. 
  • Create and publish content across our active channels: LinkedIn, Instagram, and Facebook.
  • Review basic performance metrics for content monthly to determine what content resonates most and suggest improvements. 

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Proven experience with content creation – especially videos and photos.
  • Experience with social media scheduling tools, especially HubSpot. 
  • Experience working within brand guidelines and templates, especially in Canva.
  • Excellent writing skills with the ability to self-edit and proofread content.
  • Reliable transportation & a driver's license to visit our facility and local job sites.
