The internship
This is an eight-week summer internship designed to give you a real look at consulting — not from the sidelines, but by getting close to the work.
You’ll join our Organization, Performance & Change practice (OPC). We help clients answer questions like: How should teams be organized? How can I create lasting value in my organization? What needs to change for a strategy to work in real life? How do leaders bring people along? How can organizations build the culture, capabilities and ways of working they need for the future?
These questions have various answers and approaches, and each project is built with our client and their needs in mind. In practice, that means your work could look different from week to week.
You might…
- …break down a complicated business problem and turn it into a clear story that helps a client decide where to invest for the future.
- …help organizations navigate big changes — launching a new strategy, shifting how teams work or improving the employee experience.
- …look at how companies are organized, how decisions get made, and how people work together across teams.
- …map a “day in the life” for employees, identifying the moments that matter most.
- …help find better, simpler ways for work to get done — from improving processes to making teams more effective.
- …analyze complex datasets to generate insights that inform decisions made by both Baringa and our clients.
- …help a client to optimize their cost base to deliver long-term savings.
- … think about the people side of business, including leadership, culture, learning, talent and what helps people perform at their best.
- … join complex team discussions where priorities shift, ideas evolve and collaboration matters.
So, what are we looking for?
We’re not expecting you to have consulting figured out already. We’re looking for students who are curious about how businesses work, energized by solving problems with others and excited to learn in a fast-moving, team-based environment. You’ll stand out if you bring:
- Curiosity about people, business and change - You like asking good questions and understanding what makes organizations work.
- Clear thinking - You can take complex information, spot what matters and help turn it into practical next steps.
- Strong communication - You can explain ideas clearly, whether you’re building a slide, writing a summary or contributing to a discussion.
- A collaborative mindset - You enjoy working with others, building on ideas and being part of a team.
- Comfort with learning new tools - You’re open to building skills in PowerPoint, Excel, Power BI, Mural and other tools we use to solve problems and tell stories.
- Drive to keep growing - You take feedback well, look for ways to improve and are excited by the idea of helping shape a growing business.
Most of all, we’re looking for people who are excited to develop their skills, contribute and bring their own perspective to the work.
