Organization Description

Born This Way Foundation, a nonprofit co-founded by Lady Gaga and her mother, Cynthia Germanotta, partners with young people to build a kinder and braver world that supports their mental health. Through youth-driven research, programs, and campaigns, Born This Way Foundation aims to engage young people directly with content that translates into action and to provide them with accessible resources that meet their needs. Role Description

As an intern on the Program team, you will support various programs, including:

  • Channel Kindness - Our youth storytelling platform that invites youth all around the world to put compassion into action in their own lives through community engagement.
  • Youth Advisory Board - Youth Advisory Board members play a key role in helping us carry out research, programs, and campaigns that are central to our mission. Youth Advisory Board members also serve as ambassadors for our work in their communities and beyond. We are currently recruiting for our 2027-28 cohort, who will begin their term in January 2027.
  • Be There Certificate - This free, self-paced course, created by Jack.org in partnership with Born This Way Foundation, increases mental health literacy and provides the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed to safely support anyone who may be struggling with their mental health.
     

The position will work closely with the Foundation’s programming team to bring to life multiple projects core to the Foundation’s mission.
 

*Please note: All candidates for this internship must be a current student and will be required to sign an agreement stating they are completing the internship for educational benefit.
 

Role Responsibilities

  • Review written, video, audio, and multi-media submissions for ChannelKindness.org and assist in editing stories. 
  • Review applications for the Youth Advisory Board 2027-28 cohort 
  • Assist in organizing interviews for Youth Advisory Board finalists for the 2027-28 cohort
  • Support data collection and management for the Be There Certificate program
  • Contribute to partner outreach efforts in support of Programs team initiatives

 

Role Qualifications

  • Background in writing or AP Style and a willingness to learn the Foundation’s personal style and brand
  • Exceptional interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills and has the ability to clearly communicate solutions
  • Superior organizational skills and the ability to to multi-task
  • Manage multiple projects and timelines in a fast-paced environment

Compensation

$2,500 stipend
