Software Engineering Intern

Fall Intern – Digital Product, Data & Marketing

Clearline Real Estate | New York, NY | Paid Fall Internship

Clearline Real Estate is a New York-based real estate investment and development firm with a growing portfolio of residential and mixed-use properties. We are looking for a smart, entrepreneurial fall intern interested in the intersection of real estate, technology, data, digital marketing, and consumer-facing web products.

This is a highly hands-on role for someone who likes figuring out how things work, connecting different systems, troubleshooting problems, and building practical solutions. You’ll work directly with senior members of the team on projects ranging from property websites and digital marketing to property data, integrations, search tools, and web applications.

What You’ll Work On

  • Creating, updating, troubleshooting, and improving property and real estate websites
  • Helping design and refine consumer-facing property search platforms, including search, filters, property pages, maps, listings, and user experience
  • Connecting websites and digital products to property management systems, listing platforms, databases, APIs, data feeds, and third-party software
  • Exploring ways to integrate property information from systems such as RealPage and other property-management or leasing platforms
  • Building or improving automated processes that keep property information, availability, rents, and other data accurate and up to date
  • Creating data import, synchronization, crawling, or indexing tools where appropriate to gather and organize publicly available or authorized property information
  • Troubleshooting broken links, missing data, inconsistent listings, website errors, and other technical issues
  • Developing scripts or tools to identify website problems and help correct them efficiently
  • Working with large sets of property data and finding practical ways to clean, organize, match, deduplicate, and display that information
  • Connecting websites with forms, databases, analytics platforms, APIs, mapping tools, and other digital services
  • Helping develop web and mobile applications related to real estate, leasing, marketing, and property discovery
  • Creating and managing digital marketing initiatives across Instagram, Google, email, and other platforms
  • Developing landing pages and digital campaigns for property launches and leasing
  • Using AI and emerging development tools to improve websites, automate repetitive work, analyze data, and accelerate product development
  • Reviewing website traffic and user behavior and suggesting improvements to engagement, usability, and conversion

Who We’re Looking For

You may be a great fit if you:

  • Are currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, Information Systems, Digital Media, or a related field
  • Enjoy figuring out technical problems even when there is no obvious instruction manual
  • Are comfortable investigating how different websites, databases, APIs, and software systems can communicate with one another
  • Have experience building or modifying websites, applications, scripts, automations, or data tools
  • Understand—or are excited to learn—APIs, databases, webhooks, data feeds, web crawling/indexing, and system integrations
  • Are comfortable debugging issues and tracking down why something is not working
  • Can take a loosely defined problem and independently research and test potential solutions
  • Have an eye for user experience and care about making websites simple, intuitive, accurate, and reliable
  • Are interested in real estate, consumer technology, marketplaces, search platforms, or data-driven products

Experience with JavaScript, React, Next.js, Python, SQL, APIs, web scraping/crawling tools, databases, GitHub, WordPress/Webflow, cloud services, analytics platforms, or AI-assisted coding tools is a plus.

Experience working with property-management software, real estate data, listing feeds, RealPage, Yardi, Entrata, or similar systems would be particularly valuable but is not required.

The Kind of Person We Want

More than any particular programming language, we are looking for someone who is resourceful.

If a website has hundreds of broken or outdated links, we want someone who thinks about how to identify and correct them programmatically rather than checking them one by one.

If property information exists in another system, we want someone who is curious about whether there is an API, data feed, integration, or other reliable way to bring that information into a website automatically.

If two systems do not naturally communicate, we want someone who enjoys researching the problem and figuring out a practical solution.

Why Clearline

You’ll have the opportunity to work on real projects with a small entrepreneurial team and see your work implemented quickly. Rather than spending the semester doing administrative work, you’ll help build, connect, troubleshoot, and improve real digital products and systems.

The internship provides exposure to real estate investment, development, leasing, technology, data, product development, and digital marketing in one role.

Logistics

  • Fall 2026
  • Paid internship
  • New York City
  • Part-time during the academic semester
  • Flexible schedule around classes
