Our Leadership Development Program (LDP) has three program tracks: Engineering, Information Technology, and Business. As a recent college graduate, this comprehensive 18-month rotational leadership development program will introduce you to the dynamic world of the energy industry. Our goal is to cultivate the foundational leadership skills (i.e. critical thinking, open communication, leadership, job knowledge, initiative, innovation, and corporate citizenship) needed to improve business outcomes, lead high performing teams, and to grow as an agile leader.
This position does not provide employment pursuant to the terms of a STEM OPT Training Plan.

Our program consists of:
Three (3) intensive six-month rotational assignments throughout the New York City, Westchester and Rockland Counties designed to grow your knowledge of our operations and how we do business.
At least one supervisory assignment in an operations environment leading a team of employees.
Ongoing coaching and feedback from our best-in-class LDP support team.
Delivering formal presentations to company leaders at the end of each assignment, showcasing your depth of knowledge, key process improvement recommendations, accomplishments, and lessons learned.
Cross-functional training to develop your leadership and technical skill sets while also cultivating your knowledge of the energy industry.
This is an entry level position.
Con Edison provides a strong network of support for our Management Associates. Each Associate is assigned an LDP Committee, LDP Supervisor, Assignment Manager, Mentor, and a Peer Mentor. After completing the program, LDP Associates may apply for permanent positions in the company.
Core Responsibilities
Participate in three 6-month rotational assignments across operational, engineering, information technology, and/or business functions to support company objectives and gain broad organizational and leadership experience.
Lead and support projects, initiatives, and day-to-day operations that contribute to safety, reliability, customer satisfaction, operational excellence, and business performance.
Analyze operational and business challenges, identify improvement opportunities, and develop recommendations to enhance processes, productivity, and outcomes.
Collect, evaluate, and interpret data to support decision-making, performance measurement, and continuous improvement efforts.
Collaborate with employees, supervisors, managers, and cross-functional teams to achieve project goals and support strategic priorities.
Complete assignments that require sound judgment, problem-solving, initiative, and the ability to adapt to changing business needs and priorities.
Provide leadership and support in a supervisory assignment(s), including directing work activities, fostering employee engagement, promoting accountability, and maintaining a strong safety culture.
Prepare and deliver presentations, reports, and recommendations to management and senior leadership regarding project results, operational performance, and business initiatives.
Build productive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders while demonstrating professionalism, integrity, inclusion, and corporate citizenship.
Perform other related tasks and assignments as required.

Qualifications
Required Education/Experience
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (e.g., Chemical, Civil, Electrical, Environmental, Mechanical, or Physics-related disciplines), Business (e.g., Finance, Accounting, Economics, Marketing, Management, or Business Administration), Information Technology, Computer Science, Sustainability Management, Environmental Science, or a related field within the past two (2) years. and Minimum one year work experience Includes cumulative work or
equivalent internship/co-op experience OR Six months of Con Edison co-op or internship experience.
Preferred Education/Experience
Master's Degree in Engineering (e.g., Chemical, Civil, Electrical, Environmental, Mechanical, or Physics-related disciplines), Business (e.g., Finance, Accounting, Economics, Marketing, Management, or Business Administration), Information Technology, Computer Science, Sustainability Management, Environmental Science, or a related field. within the past two (2) years. and Minimum one year work experience Includes cumulative work or
equivalent internship/co-op experience OR Six months of Con Edison co-op or internship experience.
Relevant Work Experience
Overall GPA of 3.0 or higher Required
Major program of study in Engineering, Environmental Science, Sustainability Management, Information Technology or Business Required
Graduation date between January, 2025 - June, 2027 from an accredited bachelor's or master's degree program. Required

Additional Physical Demands
The selected candidate will be assigned a System Emergency Assignment (i.e., an emergency response role) and will be expected to work non-business hours during emergencies, which may include nights, weekends, and holidays.
Must be able to meet the requirements of chosen rotational assignment.
Must be able and willing to travel within the company service territory, as required.
Must be able to work night shifts, midnight and rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays, as required.
