Math Tutor (Nova Academy)

About Us
Nova Academy is a growing after-school and tutoring program based in Fullerton, CA, serving students in grades K–8th. We're expanding our small-group Math tutoring program — both in-person and online — and looking for a tutor who can help students build strong fundamentals and confidence, from basic arithmetic all the way through Pre-Algebra, Algebra, and Geometry.

This is a great opportunity for students studying Math, Education, Child Development, or related fields to gain real teaching experience — and we're happy to work around your class schedule.

Responsibilities
- Lead small-group Math tutoring sessions (up to 4:1), both in-person at our Fullerton location and online via video call
- Teach and reinforce concepts through the Geometry level, tailored to each student's grade and ability
- Help students with daily math homework and test prep
- Come prepared each day with a lesson plan using our provided curriculum and materials
- Track student progress and communicate with parents as needed
- Maintain a positive, organized, and safe classroom environment (in-person and online)

Requirements
- Legally authorized to work in the United States
- Comfortable teaching math through the Geometry level
- Comfortable teaching online (Zoom/Google Meet, screen sharing, digital whiteboard tools)
- A genuine love for working with children
- Bright, energetic personality and a responsible, dependable attitude
- Team-oriented — values collaboration with fellow teachers and staff

Preferred Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree (Math, Education, or related field a plus)
- Prior teaching or tutoring experience is a plus, but not required
- Experience with small-group instruction, in-person or online

Schedule & Pay
- Availability needed: 2–3 days per week, Monday–Friday, 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM (flexible around your class schedule, mix of in-person and online sessions)
- $25–$30/hour, based on experience
- Part-time, hybrid — based in Fullerton, CA (92833)
