Teaching Assistant - Primary School

We are looking for a dedicated and caring Teaching Assistant to join a primary school in Coventry, CV6. Working alongside classroom teachers, you'll play a meaningful part in the day-to-day learning of children — supporting their progress, building their confidence, and helping make the classroom a place where every pupil can thrive.

This is an onsite, full-time role based in Coventry, West Midlands.

Role Description

- Classroom Support: Help teachers prepare lesson materials and set up the classroom so learning can run smoothly.

- Pupil Progress: Work with individual pupils or small groups to support them in meeting their learning goals — whether that's reading, numeracy, or something in between.

- SEND Support: Provide targeted, thoughtful assistance for children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities, adapting your approach to what each child needs.

- Behaviour Management: Contribute to a safe, positive environment by following the school's behaviour policies and modelling a calm, consistent approach.

Requirements

- A relevant childcare or Teaching Assistant qualification (Level 2 or 3) is highly desirable.

- Previous experience working with children in a school, nursery, or childcare setting.

- An Enhanced DBS check will be required before starting.

- Patient, nurturing, and genuinely invested in helping children feel safe and supported.
