Certified Medical Assistant / Patient Services Representative
Full-Time | Cedar Rapids, Iowa | Approximately $25/hour + Benefits
Holistic Wellness & Psychiatry (HWP) is seeking a full-time Certified Medical Assistant/Patient Services Representative (CMA/PSR) to join our growing psychiatry and interventional mental-health practice.
This is a unique hybrid position for someone who enjoys both clinical patient care and the administrative side of healthcare. You'll work closely with psychiatric providers, nurses, therapists and administrative staff while gaining experience with innovative treatments including Spravato and IV ketamine.
What you'll do
- Welcome patients and support check-in/check-out
- Scheduling and patient communication
- Assist providers with CMA-level clinical duties
- Obtain vitals and prepare patients/treatment rooms
- Assist with medication prior authorizations
- Support Spravato and IV ketamine treatment workflows within training and scope
- Maintain clinical supplies and treatment-room readiness
- Help coordinate patient flow between our Cedar Rapids suites
- Follow established clinical and administrative workflows
- Help patients navigate appointments, forms and treatment requirements
- Identify routine problems, investigate solutions and escalate appropriately when needed
Who we're looking for
- Certified Medical Assistant or appropriate CMA qualification
- Warm and compassionate with patients
- Highly organized and dependable
- Comfortable working with behavioral-health patients
- Able to move easily between clinical and front-office responsibilities
- Comfortable learning technology and new clinical workflows
- Strong communicator and team player
- Self-directed problem solver who looks for solutions rather than waiting to be told every next step
Experience in behavioral health, psychiatry, prior authorizations, infusion medicine or specialty medical practice is helpful but not required.
