Position Title: Human Services Non-Clinical Intern (Programs & Outreach)

Organization: Community Grief Center

Location: In-person (4633 West 20th Street, Unit B, Greeley, CO 80634)

Hours: 10–15 hours per week (Can be tailored to meet specific university course/field experience requirements)

Duration: One semester, with possibility of extension

Compensation: $500 flat stipend (paid approximately one month after the semester start date)

About Community Grief Center

The Community Grief Center provides compassionate, grief support services at no cost to individuals, families, and older adults in our community. We value inclusivity, collaboration, and community connection, and are dedicated to educating the community on the profound effects of grief while expanding our reach to underserved populations.

Internship Overview

The Community Grief Center is seeking a self-motivated, curious undergraduate intern to support our efforts in community outreach, partnership development, and resource creation. Please note: This is a strict non-clinical role. No prior experience in grief counseling is required, and interns will not engage in direct clinical therapy or counseling. Instead, you will gain meaningful, hands-on experience in nonprofit management, community mental health programming, and applied psychology. Training, guidance, and mentorship will be provided.

Key Responsibilities

• Outreach & Partnerships: Research potential community partnerships and contribute to outreach strategies to reach underserved populations.
• Resource Development: Help create, update, and expand digital and visual resources (e.g., informational handouts, outreach content) using platforms like Canva.
• Research & Data: Conduct and synthesize research to support the expansion of grief support services; assist with data entry and program documentation.
• Special Projects: Assist with community events, social media engagement, and planning as opportunities arise.
• Operations & Ethics: Maintain the highest standards of client confidentiality and professional boundaries within the center; assist with day-to-day nonprofit office operations alongside staff as needed.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in Psychology, Human Services, Social Work, Human Development, or a related field (Junior or Senior preferred).
• Strong interest in nonprofit work, community health, or grief education.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and synthesis skills.
• Dependable, self-motivated, and comfortable asking questions.
• Experience with Canva and social media platforms is a plus, but not required.
