Investment Banking Summer Analyst
As an Investment Banking Summer Analyst on the Power, Utilities & Infrastructure Investment Banking team (focusing on Renewables) at National Bank Financial Inc. ("NBF"), you will participate in a wide variety of transactions headed by senior members of the investment banking team. You will gain direct exposure to the firm’s business and deepen your knowledge of the industry.
Select Responsibilities
- Preparing presentation materials to support our clients’ capital decision making
- Providing support in the execution of M&A transactions
- Building complex financial models and performing valuation analysis
- Conducting a variety of industry and company research and analysis
- Performing various tasks supporting other team members in their deal execution and client coverage efforts
Your Team
NBF is a full-service, fully integrated investment bank with a strong presence in the Power, Utilities & Infrastructure sector. As an established player in the North American markets, NBF is committed to adding high calibre resources. The team is approximately 15 people and is looking to expand its New York headcount.
The successful candidate will benefit from on-the-job training and mentorship, supplemented by occasional third-party training in financial modelling and various tools used in our day-to-day work.
Although the emphasis is placed on analysis, financial modelling and written presentations, candidates must also demonstrate the ability to interact effectively with clients, colleagues, and other advisors.
Suggested Experience
- Exceptional proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
- Knowledge of fundamental financial principles and capital markets
- Interest in, or knowledge of, the power, utilities, and infrastructure sectors would be valued
- Demonstrated problem-solving mindset, collaborative approach and great team spirit
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trusted relationships
- Excellent communication skills in English (spoken and written)
- Prior banking summer analyst or summer intern experience would be an asset
