Intern - Environmental, Health & Safety (Summer 2027)
OVERVIEW
The Environmental Health & Safety Intern provides direct support to drive site EH&S issues including regulatory and Environmental, Health and Safety Management System and ISO14001 conformance at multiple Plexus manufacturing locations.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Aid in Lockout Tagout training.
- Aid in Accident and Incident investigations
- Weekly hazardous waste inspection
- Monthly spill prevention and control plan inspection
- Where assigned, act as the primary first point of EHS contact for internal customers to ensure expectations are met.
- Interfaces with and utilizes the Corporate EHS functional management team for resources and expertise, while maintaining local ownership of issues.
- Aid in Site is proactive in identifying, maintaining and complying with applicable county, federal, state and local regulatory requirements.
- Aid in day-to-day compliance activities and maintain records to demonstrate compliance.
- Obtain knowledge and understanding of Plexus' manufacturing processes and identify opportunities for best EHS management practices.
- Other duties as assigned by manager.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Student working toward a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health & Safety or related field for the entire duration of internship.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Junior level status
- GPA: 3.0 or higher is preferred
