Mazza Recycling is looking for a creative, motivated, and energetic college student who wants to gain real-world experience in marketing, sustainability, social media, community outreach, and event planning.

This isn't a "grab coffee and sit in meetings" internship. You'll be involved in actual projects that impact our business, our employees, our customers, and the communities we serve. From creating social media content and attending trade shows to helping plan community events and sustainability initiatives, you'll get hands-on experience while building a portfolio of work you can take with you after graduation.

You'll work closely with our Sustainability & Communications, Marketing, HR, Sales, and Operations teams to help showcase the people, programs, and projects that make Mazza Recycling a leader in recycling and environmental services.

What You'll Be Doing

Social Media & Content Creation

• Create content for LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and other digital platforms.
• Capture photos and videos at our facilities, community events, trade shows, employee events, and volunteer opportunities.
• Design graphics, reels, short-form videos, and other content that helps tell the Mazza story.
• Highlight employee accomplishments, sustainability initiatives, community partnerships, and industry innovations.
• Assist with blogs, website updates, and email campaigns.
• Track performance and engagement to help identify content that resonates with our audience.

Sustainability & Community Engagement

• Support programs that educate people about recycling, sustainability, environmental responsibility, and waste reduction.
• Help create educational materials for schools, municipalities, community organizations, and local businesses.
• Research industry trends and emerging sustainability initiatives.
• Assist with promoting Mazza's environmental impact and community involvement efforts.

Events & Trade Shows

• Help plan and coordinate trade shows, networking events, employee engagement activities, community outreach events, and industry conferences.
• Assist with event logistics, signage, promotional materials, giveaways, presentations, and event setup.
• Attend events and help document activities through photography, video, and social media coverage.
• Work with vendors and community partners to support successful event execution.
• Track event participation, engagement, and lead generation results.

Marketing & Business Support

• Assist with marketing campaigns that support business growth and brand awareness.
• Conduct research on competitors, industry trends, and marketing opportunities.
• Support lead generation and event follow-up activities.
• Assist with the development of marketing materials for customers, employees, and community partners.

What We're Looking For

• Currently pursuing a degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Sustainability, Environmental Science, Business, Hospitality, or a related field.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Interest in social media, branding, content creation, and storytelling.
• A positive attitude and willingness to learn.
• Ability to work independently while also collaborating with different teams.
• Passion for sustainability, community involvement, and making a positive impact.

Bonus Points If You Have

• Experience with Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar design platforms.
• Photography or videography experience.
• Experience managing social media accounts.
• Involvement in student organizations, clubs, volunteer programs, or campus events.
