Pay: $24–$27 per hour
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8 AM–4 PM
Job Type: Full-time, in person
Sign-On Bonus: $250
Little Scholars Learning Center is hiring an experienced Lead Preschool Teacher for our early childhood education program at 4123 Avenue U, Brooklyn, NY 11234 in Brooklyn, New York. This full-time position is ideal for a preschool, childcare, or early childhood teacher who is ready to lead a classroom and create meaningful, play-based learning experiences for children ages 1-2.
As our Lead Preschool Teacher, you will plan and lead developmentally appropriate lessons, manage daily classroom routines, and maintain a safe, nurturing, and organized preschool environment. You will support children’s social-emotional, cognitive, physical, and language development while building positive relationships with families and collaborating with other teachers and center leadership.
What You’ll Do
- Plan and lead age-appropriate, play-based preschool lessons and classroom activities
- Create a warm, inclusive, and well-organized learning environment
- Adapt lesson plans to children’s interests, abilities, and developmental needs
- Manage classroom routines and use developmentally appropriate classroom-management practices
- Observe, assess, and document children’s learning and developmental progress
- Communicate professionally with parents and families
- Maintain active supervision and follow all health, safety, and childcare licensing requirements
- Collaborate with assistant teachers, administrators, and other early childhood educators
- Support each child’s social-emotional, cognitive, physical, and language development
Required Qualifications
- Associate’s degree or higher in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field
- At least 12 college credits in Early Childhood Education
- At least one year of preschool, daycare, childcare, or early childhood teaching experience
- Knowledge of early childhood curriculum and developmentally appropriate practice
- Strong classroom-management, communication, and teamwork skills
- Ability to meet applicable New York State childcare licensing requirements
- Ability to reliably commute to 4123 Avenue U, Brooklyn, NY 11234
