Land Management Intern
Role Summary
Halo’s Interns supports day to day priorities across Halo Land Management while building foundational professional skills. This role is designed to set the intern up for long term success through meaningful work, clear expectations, consistent feedback, and increasing responsibility over time.
The intern will work on real deliverables that help teams stay organized and on track. The intern will also gain exposure to how different departments operate and collaborate. Success in this role looks like reliable execution, strong communication, and continuous improvement.
What You Will Learn

Key Responsibilities
Team and project support
- Support assigned team members with task based work that directly reduces workload and improves execution
- Assist with cross functional projects by tracking action items, owners, and due dates
- Prepare meeting agendas, capture meeting notes, and summarize next steps when requested
Documentation and organization
- Organize and maintain shared folders, files, and templates in Google Drive
- Update trackers and spreadsheets with accurate status, notes, and completion dates
- Create and maintain clear documentation that allows others to pick up work quickly
Research and deliverable preparation
- Assist with basic research projects and present results in a clear, organized format
- Draft internal materials such as process documents, templates, messaging drafts, or reporting summaries under supervision
- Proofread and format documents to ensure quality and professionalism
Communication and accountability
- Provide proactive status updates and ask clarifying questions early to prevent rework
- Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information professionally
- Apply feedback quickly and demonstrate growth across targeted development areas
Success Milestones
First 30 Days
- Complete onboarding and learn where to find key resources, templates, and SOPs
- Establish a personal system to manage tasks, deadlines, and updates
- Deliver assigned work accurately and on time with consistent communication
- Demonstrate strong documentation habits and clean tracker updates
By 3 Months
- Own a set of recurring responsibilities with minimal rework
- Contribute to at least one cross functional project with measurable outputs
- Build a portfolio of work such as summaries, trackers, templates, or process documentation
- Show clear improvement based on feedback
By 6 Months and Beyond
- Operate independently on standard workflows and shifting priorities
- Identify and support small improvements to organization, documentation, or process
- Demonstrate readiness for expanded scope or a potential full time path when available
Required Qualifications
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in land management, business, or a related field
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Organized, detail focused, and able to manage deadlines
- Comfortable learning new tools and adapting quickly
- Proficient in Google Workspace, including Docs, Sheets, Drive, and Calendar
- Professional judgment with confidential information
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior internship, campus leadership, or work experience in an office or professional environment
- Comfort building trackers, organizing files, and documenting processes
- Interest in operations, project support, recruiting, or business enablement
- Basic experience with reporting, data cleanup, or creating templates
