Leader Project Engineer

Job Description
We are currently seeking a full-time Project Engineer for electrical construction projects in the Columbus, Ohio Metro Area. 
Vader Project Engineers are bright, integrous people who are motivated by challenge.  They enjoy working collaboratively with all facets of a team to both (1) refine and leverage internal processes & programs and (2) develop project-specific solutions. They enjoy planning their work ahead and executing it efficiently.  They are willing to complete both administrative tasks, and as they learn and progress in the company, assume management responsibilities.


As a quickly growing company, Vader is seeking individuals who can work on multiple construction projects simultaneously, with projects varying in size and complexity. 

 

Responsibilities

  • Document control (meeting minutes, RFI’s, submittals, change requests, etc.)
  • Assist and support project teams with daily project coordination
  • Procurement of construction materials; coordinate, price and produce purchase orders and releases
  • Develop scope for and coordinate subcontractors with Vader PM’s and PC’s
  • Maintain and prepare all correspondence (written and electronic) and project documentation
  • Liaise with clients to identify and define requirements, scope and objectives
  • Assist with schedule management
  • Make sure clients’ needs are met as projects evolve
  • Review project billings in conjunction with Vader’s Accounting team
  • Monitor project progress and handle any issues that arise
  • Use internal software to monitor labor hours, plans and expenditures
  • Safety and internal process management
  • Project estimating and change management

Qualifications

  • Exposure to Construction Project Management preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, General Engineering, Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, Architecture, or related field
  • Previous internship, co-op, or employment experience is a plus
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, and attention to detail
  • Solid organizational skills, including multitasking and time-management
  • Strong client-facing and teamwork skills
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Bluebeam, and cloud-based platforms
  • High-level of speed and accuracy in work
  • Takes initiative, displays a strong work ethic and maintains a positive attitude
  • Working at and/or visiting jobsites in the Columbus Metro Area is required
  • Reliable transportation
  • Possibility of travel to jobsites nationally may be required

Estimated Compensation Range: $62,500.00–$75,000.00 per year
