Position Summary:
The School of Communications’ Annenberg Honors Program is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Federal Work-Study Student Assistant to provide administrative and communication support to the program's leadership. This role is ideal for students interested in gaining experience in communications, higher education, alumni relations, social media, and/or nonprofit development.
Key Responsibilities:
Communicate professionally with internal and external stakeholders, including faculty, staff, students, alumni, and potential donors
Assist with email correspondence, calendar scheduling, and follow-up communications
Support event planning and logistics for Honors Program activities
Maintain accurate records of alumni and donor outreach
Provide content to social media accounts
Help prepare documents, reports, and outreach materials
Complete special projects and administrative tasks as assigned
Support the program’s motto, “Excellence Without Excuse”
Qualifications:
Must be eligible for Federal Work-Study as determined by the Office of Financial Aid
Strong communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills
Exceptional organizational and time-management abilities
Attention to detail and ability to follow through with minimal supervision
Proficiency in email and calendar platforms (e.g., Gmail, Outlook, Google Calendar)
Reliable, professional, and able to handle confidential information
Interest or experience in communications, higher education, or nonprofit work is a plus
Work Schedule:
Flexible hours based on availability and class schedule
In-person at the School of Communications
Remote work permitted with supervisor approval
