Accounting Intern

Position:  Accounting Intern for public accounting firm

 

Location: Oneonta, New York

 

Term:  Tax season 2027 (most of spring semester)

Time Requirements:  10-30 hours/week 

Major(s) Requested:  Accounting majors preferred.  Other majors could be Finance or Business Administration 

Number of Openings:  1-2 interns, depending upon hours each can provide

 

Potential Duties:

  • Input client data into income tax returns (primary responsibility)
  • Preparation of year-end reporting for Forms W-2 and 1099
  • Bookkeeping for firm clients 
  • Preparation of Sales Tax Returns
  • Payroll compliance including agency deposits and preparation of quarterly returns
  • Preparation and Compilation of financial statements  

 

Qualifications and Prerequisites:

  • Individual Taxation
  • Intermediate Accounting 
  • Proficiency in PC environment 
  • Familiarity with Excel

 

 

Salary:  Paid, Minimum Wage
