Strength & Conditioning Coach
About DiamondFit
DiamondFit Performance is a youth sports performance gym in Raleigh. For over a decade we have trained athletes across all sports and sent hundreds on to college rosters. Our goal is to help every athlete prepare for the next level of their athletic career. We build sport-specific programming that develops strength, speed, and body control, and we group athletes by readiness rather than age.
Job Summary
DiamondFit Performance is looking for a full-time Strength Coach who loves working with young athletes and wants to help them get stronger, faster, and more confident. You will coach our small-group classes and teams, bring energy and patience to every session, and play a key role in each athlete's development.
You will track progress with current training technology, guide new athletes through their assessments, walk families through their membership options, and connect each athlete's goals to a clear training plan. Classes run in the evenings during the school year, roughly 3:30 to 7:30 PM, plus Saturday mornings from 8 to 11 AM, with daytime classes offered in the summer.
Responsibilities
- Run and manage our athletic programming, adjusting it for each athlete as they progress.
- Coach small groups and teams, leading athletes through their training with energy and patience.
- Teach proper movement patterns so athletes get stronger and move well without getting hurt.
- Use current training technology and data tracking to measure progress, and review the numbers with athletes and families in plain language.
- Walk athletes through their assessments and walk families through membership options.
- Talk with parents about their athlete's goals and connect those goals to a clear plan.
- Handle the administrative and operational side: scheduling, athlete records, membership tracking, and follow-up.
- Communicate with parents by email and in conversation, clearly and warmly.
What We're Looking For
- Strength and conditioning experience, and the ability to run athletic programming well.
- Educated in current training technology and data tracking.
- Excitement to help youth athletes make progress, and someone who loves coaching groups and teams.
- Eager, energetic, and patient with kids.
- Strong administrative and organizational skills, and comfortable communicating with parents.
- Coaching experience is ideal, about a year, but not required if you are eager to learn.
- A bachelor's degree in Exercise Science or a closely related field.
- A nationally accredited strength and conditioning certification, such as CSCS, is preferred.
- Current CPR, AED, and First Aid certification, or willingness to earn it before starting.
