Summer Intern - Operations Leader
The Operations Leader Intern is responsible for supporting the operations leadership team by coordinating cross-functional initiatives, analyzing process performance, and driving efficiency improvements to ensure reliable, scalable day-to-day operations. As an Operations Leader Intern, you will foster employee relations and engagement while coordinating production scheduling and materials, assisting with machine setups and quality inspections, collecting and analyzing shop-floor data for continuous improvement, managing inventory and safety documentation, and communicating issues across teams.
Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to be employed in the United States. The company does not intend to provide sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H-1B, TN, etc.) for this employment position.
What You Will Do:
- Foster employee relations and engagement, supporting team morale and frontline communication.
- Conduct basic safety observations, report hazards, and follow up on corrective actions.
- Communicate issues and status updates to supervisors, engineering, purchasing, and quality teams.
- Track cycle times, downtime reasons, and other performance metrics; maintain dashboards and reports.
- Support continuous improvement activities (Kaizen), map processes, and help implement small experiments.
- Assist with root-cause investigations for recurring defects and document corrective actions.
What You Need to Succeed:
- Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Organizational Leadership, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Strong academic performance with coursework in production processes, quality control, operations strategy, or related subjects preferred.
- Basic knowledge of manufacturing principles, lean methodologies, and data analysis is a plus.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) or equivalent tools.
- Willingness to learn, strong analytical skills, and effective communication abilities.
