Reports to: Principal

Supervises: Students and Support staff as directed

Work Days: 190 days

 

Performance Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Deliver state and local curriculum to prepare students for success in higher education and careers, aligning instructional practices to optimize learning outcomes.
  • Assess student achievement to inform instructional decisions and create a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment using classroom, district and state assessments.
  • Represent the school system positively in public relations and collaborate with school personnel, parents, and community agencies.
  • Exhibit professionalism, adhere to professional ethics, and fulfill responsibilities including providing relevant learning experiences and maintaining a respectful environment.
  • Engage students in active learning using research-based methods, support individual learning differences, and utilize diverse assessment strategies to measure progress accurately.
  • Analyze data to inform instructional content and provide timely feedback to students and parents, fostering student-centered and self-directed learning behaviors.
  • Uphold professional standards, contribute to professional growth, and support the school's mission through effective communication and collaboration through professional development practices.
  • Meets certification and accreditation standards.
  • Fulfill other job-related duties as assigned by administrators.

Other Functions:

Daily attendance and punctuality are required to ensure the goals of the work unit are met.

Working Environment:

The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands:

Lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; frequent stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling. Generally, the job requires 65% walking/standing, 25% sitting and 10% lifting/carrying.

JOB REQUIREMENTS


 

  • Holds a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution of higher learning.
  • Meets all certification requirements including teaching area endorsements in the State of Georgia.
  • Holds a valid State of Georgia Teaching Certificate.
