Position Overview

DSW Homes, LLC is seeking a motivated, hardworking, and career-driven Residential Construction Superintendent Intern to support our growing residential construction portfolio. This is a full-time, in-person position that requires regular travel to residential job sites within the surrounding region.

Reporting to the Program Manager and working closely with experienced Superintendents and project team members, this entry-level role provides hands-on experience in residential rehabilitation and new construction projects in a scattered-lot environment. This position is ideal for individuals interested in building a long-term career in residential construction management.

The ideal candidate is eager to learn, highly organized, dependable, and willing to work hard to develop their construction knowledge and leadership skills. Successful candidates will demonstrate a strong work ethic, attention to detail, initiative, and a desire to grow professionally within the construction industry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist Superintendents and Project Managers with day-to-day oversight of residential rehabilitation and new construction projects
  • Travel to job sites to observe project progress, support field operations, and assist with inspections
  • Help monitor project schedules and communicate updates to project team members
  • Assist with coordinating subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers
  • Support job site safety efforts by identifying potential hazards and promoting compliance with safety standards
  • Participate in quality control inspections to verify work is completed according to plans and company standards
  • Learn to read and interpret architectural and engineered plans and specifications
  • Assist with punch list development and project closeout activities
  • Maintain project documentation, photographs, and progress reports
  • Support permit tracking, inspections, and regulatory compliance efforts
  • Communicate professionally with homeowners, subcontractors, and project stakeholders
  • Perform general project support duties as assigned by management
  • Demonstrate a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to take on new challenges

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Must reside in or be open to relocation to Los Angeles County and be available for approximately 25% local travel
  • Strong interest in residential construction, construction management, or a related field
  • Demonstrated ability to work hard, stay focused, and learn in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office applications
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to maintain professionalism and handle confidential information appropriately
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license
  • Ability to perform site visits and navigate active construction environments
  • Willingness to learn, accept feedback, and develop new skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Coursework, certificate program, or degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, Building Sciences, or a related field
  • Previous experience in construction, skilled trades, landscaping, maintenance, customer service, or other hands-on work environments
  • Familiarity with residential construction processes and terminology
  • Experience using Microsoft Excel, Word, and project management software

Compensation & Benefits

The expected salary range for this position is $60,000-$80,000 annually, based on experience, qualifications, and geographic considerations.
