Business Analyst/Tester
We are seeking a Business Analyst/Tester to support data-driven initiatives within a fast-paced financial services environment. This role is ideal for candidates with strong analytical skills, hands-on SQL experience, and an interest in working with financial data and business processes.
The ideal candidate will help analyze datasets, generate insights, support reporting initiatives, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve operational and business performance.
Qualifications
- Degree in Business Analytics, Data Analytics, Finance, Information Systems, Computer Science, Economics, or related field
- 1–2 years of professional experience as a Business Analyst, Data Analyst, or similar analytical role
- Strong SQL skills with experience writing queries, analyzing datasets, and generating reports
- Understanding of financial services, banking, mortgage, or related financial business domains
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Experience gathering business requirements and translating them into data-driven insights
- Proficiency with Excel and data visualization/reporting tools is preferred
- Accounting skills is a big plus
Preferred Skills
- Experience with Python for data analysis or automation
- Exposure to AWS cloud services or cloud-based data environments
- Understanding of Agile or Scrum environments
- Familiarity with ETL processes, dashboards, or BI tools such as Tableau or Power BI
Responsibilities
- Analyze business and financial datasets to uncover trends, identify issues, and highlight opportunities for improvement.
- Develop and optimize SQL queries to support reporting, data extraction, and validation activities.
- Partner with stakeholders to gather business requirements, provide analytical insights, and support informed decision-making.
- Design and generate reports, dashboards, and data summaries for business users and executive leadership.
- Perform data quality assessments and investigate data inconsistencies to ensure accuracy and reliability.
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing operational efficiency and effectiveness.
