Textile Prototype Intern

AEROSPACE TEXTILE / SOFT GOODS PROTOTYPE INTERN

• MUST LIVE IN THE MESA / PHX AREA
• MUST BE WILLING TO STAY UNTIL GRADUATION

Duration: Throughout college

  Individuals will work to support the production of textiles for various aerospace companies.  Individuals will gradually learn various aspects of the full life cycle of a textile / soft goods engineering project.  Schedules maybe flexible and this program is designed for students who want to work in this program throughout their degree until they graduate.

RESPONSIBILITIES FOR POSITION: 
 

TEXTILE / SOFTGOOD QUALITY:

              - Maintain AS9100 records for production

              - Inspect items IAW with drawings and requirements

              - Create inspections plans & DIPS

              - Track Materials and Parts

TEXTILE / SOFTGOOD PURCHASING:

• Create purchase orders IAW with drawings & requirements

TEXTILE / SOFTGOOD INVENTORY, SHIPPING, & RECEIVING:

• Receive materials & inspect
• Shipping products IAW with contracts

TEXTIL / SOFTGOOD PRODUCTION:

• Create WSI’s (workshop instructions)
• Design tooling & program equipment
• Create patterns & production processes
• Create travelers, inspection plans, shop instructions, bills of materials, purchase orders, and engineering documentation
• Analyze databases, RFP’s, RFQ’s, and other leads for business development
• Run machinery to produce projects for manufacturing 

***All other duties as assigned or required***

QUALIFICATIONS & OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED: 

- Ability to read and use government databases                                                                            

- Must be able to call and interact with customers & suppliers                                                          

- Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.                                                        

- Must be working towards graduation in textile or engineering college degree 

- Able to be at the facility during work hours                                                                                   

- Must be 18 years or over

- Adobe or draftsite & SolidWorks (or learn)

- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.                                                                                                                       

- Must have Microsoft office skills, Solid works & Adobe                                                       

- Must be a US citizen and able to acquire security clearance (ITAR programs)

- Bilingual preferred 

Work Environment: (*)  The work environment for this job is in an office and can require you to go into the manufacturing shop floor, which is heated and air conditioned.  The noise level is usually high due to industrial machines.  This position requires frequent walking, frequent standing, frequent lifting, frequent typing, frequent use of a computer screen, as well as sitting at a desk.

Physical Demands: (*) The position requires that the employee is regularly required to stand, move, talk, see, and hear.  The employee is regularly required to life, stand; walk; reach with hands and arms.  Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.  Specific vision abilities include close, distance, and color vision. Specific physical abilities include abilities to move items in all directions with body, hands, and fingers.
