Registered Nurse
The Registered Nurse (RN) provides safe, high-quality, patient-centered nursing care in accordance with professional nursing standards, facility policies, and applicable regulations. The RN assesses patient needs, develops and implements individualized plans of care, administers medications and treatments, monitors patient conditions, and responds appropriately to changes in clinical status.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments and document findings accurately.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care plans.
- Administer medications, IV therapy, treatments, and other physician-ordered interventions.
- Monitor vital signs, laboratory results, symptoms, and changes in patient condition.
- Respond promptly to emergencies and changes in patient status.
- Perform wound care, medication management, specimen collection, and other clinical procedures within scope of practice.
- Coordinate patient care with physicians, nursing staff, therapists, and other interdisciplinary team members.
- Provide patient and family education regarding medications, treatments, diagnoses, and discharge instructions.
- Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical records and nursing documentation.
- Follow infection-control, medication-safety, HIPAA, and patient-safety requirements.
- Supervise and delegate appropriate nursing tasks to LPNs/LVNs and nursing assistants when applicable.
- Participate in admissions, transfers, discharges, and continuity-of-care planning.
- Advocate for patients while maintaining their dignity, privacy, safety, and rights.
- Follow facility policies, nursing standards, and applicable state and federal regulations.
Qualifications
- Current and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
- Current BLS/CPR certification.
- ACLS and other specialty certifications as required by the assignment.
- Strong clinical assessment, communication, documentation, and critical-thinking skills.
- Ability to work effectively within an interdisciplinary healthcare team.
