Markets Intern Hong Kong 2027

Join our Financial Markets team and help clients navigate complexity, capture opportunities and manage risk across foreign exchange, interest rates, debt securities and commodities. Financial Markets is at the heart of Corporate & Investment Banking, connecting clients with capital and supporting global trade and investment.

ABOUT THE PROGRAMME

This 10-week summer internship offers hands-on experience with real business challenges, meaningful responsibilities and exposure to our products, clients and international network. You will receive a structured induction, technical and professional development, and support from managers, mentors and buddies. You will also have opportunities to learn from senior leaders, industry experts and community initiatives. Strong performers may be considered for a future graduate role.

WHERE YOU COULD WORK

During the assessment process, we will help identify two areas that best match your strengths and interests.

Sales: Build institutional client relationships and deliver tailored investment strategies.

Trading: Make markets and manage positions across asset classes using data and analytics.

Structuring: Design and price financial products by combining quantitative and commercial insight.

Financing Risk: Structure and distribute financing while managing risk and regulatory requirements.

Research: Develop insights across macroeconomics, FX, credit, commodities, ESG and geopolitics.

Risk, Modelling, Analytics, Product and XVA: Support data analysis, scenarios, product reviews, pricing and risk methodologies.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We welcome students from all degree disciplines and backgrounds. You should be curious about financial markets, current affairs and the global economy. You will take ownership, show initiative, think critically, learn quickly, collaborate effectively and remain adaptable under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

ELIGIBILITY AND KEY DATES

You must be a penultimate-year student, available to intern from June 2027 and able to start full-time in July 2028. You must have the permanent legal right to work in Hong Kong. Only one application may be submitted within a six-month period.

Assessment centres: October 2026 onwards

Internship start: June 2027
