Preschool Director
Position Overview
- Job Title: Preschool Director
- Reports to: Board of Directors or School Owner
- Employment Type: Full-Time
- Salary Range: Competitive, typically ranging between $85,000 and $90,000 per year based on location and experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Staff Leadership: Hire, train, mentor, and evaluate teachers and support staff.
- Program Management: Design and oversee an engaging, developmentally appropriate early childhood curriculum.
- Operations & Compliance: Maintain facility safety and ensure complete adherence to state and local licensing regulations.
- Financial Administration: Develop, manage, and monitor the center’s annual operating budget, tuition billing, and payroll.
- Family Engagement: Build positive relationships with parents, manage enrollment inquiries, and resolve concerns promptly.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field (Associate degrees considered with heavy experience).
- Experience: Minimum of 3 to 5 years of teaching and administrative or supervisory experience in an early childhood setting.
- Certifications: Current CPR and First Aid certification, plus state-mandated director credentials or permits.
- Skills: Strong leadership, business management, and verbal/written communication abilities.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, and kneel throughout the workday.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds in emergency or daily situations.
