Content Storyteller Intern

BRC

Content Storyteller Intern

BRC | Houston, TX | Hybrid | Part-Time | $18/Hour | 15–20 Hours/Week

About BRC

BRC helps ambitious companies build the teams behind growth.

We partner with startups and growing companies to identify and hire the people who can help take their businesses to the next stage. Along the way, we see firsthand how companies grow, how careers are built, how hiring decisions get made, and what separates great teams from everyone else.

We want to tell more of those stories.

We’re looking for a Content Storyteller Intern who can help turn BRC’s ideas, expertise, people, and conversations into content people actually want to watch, read, save, and share.

The Opportunity

This isn’t a traditional social media internship.

You won’t spend your semester simply scheduling posts or reposting company announcements.

You’ll help build BRC’s content engine.

You’ll work directly with BRC’s Founder & CEO to identify stories worth telling and turn them into videos, social posts, graphics, carousels, clips, and other creative content across TikTok, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, and Threads.

You’ll also help bring original BRC content series to life, including BRC Career Lab, The Founding Team, founder-led content, recruiting insights, and behind-the-scenes stories about building BRC.

The goal is simple: make BRC more useful, recognizable, human, and interesting every week.

What You’ll Do

Tell Stories

Find interesting stories, ideas, trends, and conversations worth turning into content

Develop hooks, short scripts, captions, post copy, and creative concepts

Translate recruiting, startup, hiring, and career topics into content people can easily understand

Look for the story behind the information—not just another post to publish

Create Content

Produce short-form videos for TikTok, Instagram Reels, LinkedIn, and YouTube Shorts

Edit longer conversations and interviews into compelling clips

Create graphics, carousels, covers, thumbnails, and other social assets

Help produce original BRC series such as BRC Career Lab and The Founding Team

Capture behind-the-scenes content from BRC and our team

Repurpose Great Ideas

Turn BRC blogs, conversations, interviews, and research into platform-specific content

Find multiple creative angles from one strong idea

Adapt content for each platform instead of simply posting the same thing everywhere

One great BRC idea might become a LinkedIn post, Instagram carousel, TikTok, YouTube Short, Reel, quote graphic, and future video topic.

Help Run the Content Engine

Maintain BRC’s content calendar

Organize drafts, videos, graphics, and current asset links

Prepare content for review and approval

Publish approved content across BRC’s channels

Monitor comments and engagement

Turn audience questions and conversations into future content ideas

Learn What Works

Track performance across platforms

Pay attention to watch time, retention, saves, shares, comments, profile visits, and audience growth

Identify patterns in what performs well

Use those insights to make the next batch of content stronger

What We’re Looking For

You might be a great fit if you:

Love storytelling, content, social media, video, or digital marketing

Naturally notice interesting stories and ideas

Understand what makes someone stop scrolling

Can write conversationally and communicate ideas clearly

Have an eye for clean, modern visual content

Are comfortable learning video editing and design tools

Follow creators, brands, and emerging social trends

Are organized enough to manage multiple pieces of content at once

Take feedback well and enjoy improving your work

Are curious, resourceful, and willing to experiment

Want to create real work—not hypothetical classroom assignments

You do not need to already be an expert in recruiting or startups. We’ll teach you the business.

Tools You’ll Work With

Our content workflow includes tools such as Canva, Descript, Notion, Slack, Microsoft 365, and AI tools for research, ideation, drafting, and repurposing.

Experience with these tools is helpful, but the ability to learn quickly matters more.

What You’ll Get

This internship is designed to give you real ownership and a portfolio of work you can point to.

You’ll get hands-on experience building a growing company's content presence, creating across multiple platforms, producing original video series and campaigns, and learning content strategy, production, distribution, and analytics.

You’ll also work directly with BRC’s Founder & CEO and get exposure to startup founders, hiring leaders, recruiters, and business operators.

Most importantly, the work you create will actually go somewhere. You’ll leave with portfolio-ready content you helped create and publish—not a folder of hypothetical assignments.

For someone interested in a career in content marketing, social media, brand, creative strategy, video, or storytelling, you’ll have the opportunity to touch all of it.

Compensation & Schedule

This is a paid, part-time hybrid internship at $18 per hour, with an expected schedule of approximately 15–20 hours per week.

The role is based in Houston, Texas and combines independent work with in-person collaboration at BRC. You’ll spend some of your time working remotely and some time in the office collaborating with the team, capturing content, and helping bring BRC’s ideas and original series to life.

The Person We Want

We care less about finding someone with the perfect résumé and more about finding someone who gets excited about making things.

When you see a great TikTok, LinkedIn post, YouTube video, campaign, or brand story, you wonder why it worked.

You have ideas. You notice things. You want to experiment.

And you want the work you create to actually matter.

If that sounds like you, we’d love to hear from you.
