Director of Adult Services
Position Overview
The Director of Adult Services provides leadership and oversight for all Adult Services programs. This position ensures high quality care, regulatory compliance, and effective staff coordination. The Director manages program operations, staffing, client discharges, and organizational systems that support service delivery. This role serves as a key resource for staff, clients, and families. Direct programs for staff and clients in accord with state, federal and local standards as well as those policies and procedures established by St. Ann Center, to assure that the spiritual, emotional, recreational and social needs of the staff and client are met and maintained.
Leadership & Program Oversight
- Provide overall leadership and operational oversight for Adult Day Care, Respite, Bathing, Overnight Respite, and related Adult Services programs.
- Ensure all programs operate in compliance with state, federal, and local regulations and St. Ann Center policies, while meeting the spiritual, emotional, recreational, and social needs of clients.
- Oversee daily supervision and delegated responsibilities of the Lead Supervisor/Director.
- Collaborate with the Chief Operating Officer to review and improve programs, policies, procedures, and job descriptions.
- Complete and submit required operational reports and documentation to executive leadership.
Staffing, Scheduling & Workforce Management
- Oversee staff scheduling, assignments, and coverage, including call‑ins, schedule changes, and two‑person assist services.
- Approve timekeeping, time‑off requests, and temporary staffing documentation; maintain accurate weekly payroll records.
- Lead staffing processes, including interviews, onboarding, orientation, and required training completion.
- Provide staff coaching, mentoring, corrective action, performance documentation, and hands‑on unit support as needed.
Client Care Coordination & Case Management
- Direct Adult Services program delivery and client coordination, including admissions, care planning, and discharges.
- Lead weekly care plan and Individual Service Plan (ISP) reviews in collaboration with program staff.
- Ensure timely implementation of nursing orders and coordinated case management with Social Workers.
- Address and resolve client, caregiver, and staff concerns.
- Develop and oversee Personal Hygiene services for Day Care and À La Carte clients.
Training, Licensure & Regulatory Compliance
- Monitor and maintain licensure and certification requirements for nursing and CNA staff.
- Coordinate required training, orientation, and ongoing in‑service education, including continuing education tracking.
- Ensure full regulatory compliance across Adult Services programs.
- Document and report all incidents and accidents involving staff or clients in accordance with policy.
Policy, Quality Assurance & Program Support
- Develop, update, and enforce policies and procedures; ensure consistent adherence through monitoring and review.
- Manage staff complaints and grievances, preparing required reports for executive leadership.
- Support student programs, internships, tours, and community engagement initiatives.
Financial & Operational Administration
- Approve supply ordering and operational requisitions.
- Assist executive leadership with budget development, monitoring expenditures, and recommending capital or non‑budgeted purchases.
- Coordinate and follow up on volunteer staffing need with the Volunteer Coordinator.
Communication & Interdepartmental Coordination
- Maintain regular communication with administrative and program leadership to support coordinated operations.
- Serve as a liaison among staff, administration, clients, families, volunteers, and external partners.
- Ensure accurate and timely submission of all operational, staffing, and compliance documentation.
Skills:
Qualifications/Requirements
- The program director of an ADCC shall be at least 21 years of age and have the capacity to respond to the needs of each participant and manage the day-to-day operations of the ADCC.
- The program director shall have at least one of the following qualifications: a. An associate degree or higher from an accredited college in a health care related field. b. At least 2 years’ experience working in a health care related field which served a population similar to the participant group at the ADCC.
- License or Degree in Human Services or Related Field
