Substitute Instructional Assistant, Alternative Education (Title I) - Student Programs and Services (S-2701)
Job Summary
The job of Instructional Assistant, Alternative Education (Title I) is done for the purpose(s) of providing intensive intervention support services, providing academic remediation lessons/activities, maintaining a safe classroom environment with at-risk students, documenting and/or providing academic/behavioral assessment data that may be used in a court of law, ensuring compliance with drug/alcohol programs, assisting with weapon/drug searches, and processing new students in accordance with Alternative Education requirements.

Requirements / Qualifications
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: Job related experience is desired. (Relevant job experience is a prerequisite for permanent positions, but may not be mandatory for substitute roles.)
REQUIRED EDUCATION: High school diploma or equivalent and must meet one of the following requirements:
- Two years of higher education study (48 semester units); OR
- Associate's or higher degree; OR
- Pass equivalent academic assessment test that demonstrates knowledge of and the ability to assist in teaching reading, writing, and mathematics or reading, writing, and mathematics readiness
REQUIRED TESTING: Once this position closes, your application will be screened for minimum qualifications. Those who meet the minimum qualifications will be e-mailed an invitation for testing.
