Studio Assistant Intern

Studio Assistant Intern — Studio of Yehimi Cambrón Álvarez

  • Location: Chicago, IL (in-studio, with some remote-friendly tasks)
  • Type: Internship (part-time, hours flexible around class schedule)
  • Reports to: Yehimi Cambrón Álvarez, Artist

About the Artist

Yehimi Cambrón Álvarez is a Mexico-born, Atlanta-raised interdisciplinary artist based in Chicago. Her practice draws on fiber methods — sewing, netting, crocheting — and reclaimed materials from her family's furniture business to explore themes of undocumentedness, labor, and visibility. Her work has shown at institutions including the High Museum of Art and the Museum of Contemporary Art of Georgia, and she is currently an Artist-in-Residence at the Chicago Artists Coalition.

This internship offers hands-on experience supporting the day-to-day operations of a working professional artist's studio — from communications and e-commerce to content creation and archival systems.
