About the Role
We are looking for an energetic and enthusiastic Dance Fitness Instructor to lead a fun and engaging enrichment program for young learners.
You'll introduce students to movement, dance, rhythm, and fitness through age-appropriate activities designed to keep them active, confident, and excited to participate. Classes should be welcoming and accessible, allowing students of different fitness levels and dance experience to enjoy moving and learning together.
This role is not about creating professional dancers. It's about helping students stay active, build confidence, express themselves, and have fun through movement.
You do not need to be a professional dancer or traditional classroom teacher to apply. If you have experience with dance, fitness, movement, youth activities, or leading energetic group sessions and enjoy working with children, we encourage you to apply.
Curriculum guidance and instructional materials are provided, so you'll have a clear foundation for each class while still having room to bring your own energy, creativity, and personality.
What You'll Do
- Lead fun, energetic, and age-appropriate dance fitness classes
- Introduce students to basic dance movements, rhythm, coordination, and fitness activities
- Guide students through movement routines, games, and interactive exercises
- Encourage students to stay active while building confidence and coordination
- Create routines and activities that are engaging and accessible for different ability and experience levels
- Use music and movement to create an energetic and positive learning environment
- Encourage participation without making students feel pressured or intimidated
- Adapt activities to meet the needs and abilities of different students
- Promote teamwork, confidence, creativity, and positive peer interaction
- Demonstrate movements clearly and provide encouragement and support
- Maintain a safe, positive, and inclusive environment
- Monitor students during physical activities and promote safe movement practices
- Communicate professionally with program coordinators and school staff
- Arrive prepared, dependable, and ready to engage students
Qualifications
We're looking for someone who:
- Has experience or familiarity with dance, fitness, movement, exercise, or youth physical activities
- Enjoys working with children and encouraging them to stay active
- Can confidently lead and demonstrate movement-based activities
- Has a positive, energetic, and encouraging personality
- Is comfortable leading groups of students
- Can adapt activities for different fitness levels and abilities
- Understands basic safety practices for physical activities
- Has strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Is reliable, professional, and organized
- Can follow provided curriculum while bringing creativity and energy to the classroom
Prior teaching experience is preferred but not required.
Experience in dance instruction, fitness instruction, coaching, youth programs, camps, physical education, tutoring, mentoring, or related fields is a plus.
