Pay: $25–$40/hour, based on experience

About the Role

We are looking for an enthusiastic Website Design Instructor to lead an engaging coding and web design enrichment program for high school students.

You’ll introduce students to the fundamentals of HTML and CSS while helping them understand how websites are designed and built. Through hands-on projects, students will learn how to structure web pages, style content, and turn their ideas into functional websites.

This role is not just about teaching code. It's about helping students build confidence, think creatively, solve problems, and see that they can create something real using technology.

You do not need to be a traditional classroom teacher to apply. If you have a strong foundation in HTML and CSS, web design, front-end development, or related technology and enjoy working with students, we encourage you to apply.

Curriculum guidance and instructional materials are provided, so you’ll have a clear structure for each class while still having room to bring your own knowledge, creativity, and teaching style.

What You'll Do

  • Lead engaging, hands-on website design and coding classes
  • Introduce students to the fundamentals of HTML and CSS
  • Teach students how to structure and style web pages
  • Explain basic web design concepts, including layout, typography, colors, and visual organization
  • Guide students through hands-on projects and website-building activities
  • Help students turn ideas into functional web pages
  • Demonstrate coding concepts clearly and break down technical topics into manageable steps
  • Encourage creativity, problem-solving, and experimentation
  • Support students with different levels of coding and technology experience
  • Provide constructive feedback and celebrate student progress

Qualifications

We're looking for someone who:

  • Has a strong foundation in HTML and CSS
  • Has experience with website design, web development, front-end development, or related technology
  • Can clearly explain technical concepts to beginners
  • Enjoys helping students learn and solve problems
  • Has strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Is patient, enthusiastic, and encouraging
  • Is comfortable leading and engaging groups of students
  • Can adapt explanations and activities for different learning styles and experience levels
  • Is reliable, professional, and organized
  • Can follow provided curriculum while bringing creativity and personality to the classroom

Prior teaching experience is preferred but not required.

Experience in web development, software development, coding instruction, STEM education, tutoring, mentoring, camps, youth programs, or related fields is a plus.
