CROSSROADS FELLOWSHIP Tech/AV Intern position

 

JOB DESCRIPTION (20hrs/week)

The A/V intern will assist with running production at both campuses to ensure that all venues are supported to produce the best outcome for Sunday morning service and special events at Crossroads Fellowship. They will work with the Production Director and Tech Director in the setup and instillation of AV equipment including troubleshooting. Training will able be done on audio engineering, lighting (High End Systems Hog 4), studio mixing and recording (Ableton), camera operations, video switching, video editing and volunteer management. Additionally, this position will work closely with the Worship department in ensuring that all worship services are run as smoothly as possible.

 

EXPECTATIONS

The internship position will function to aid the individual in personal challenge, and growth, in the following area:

  • COMPETENCY – Must be able to connect relationally with the team, CRF staff, and CRF attenders. Will need to have strong communication skills and follow-through on assignments, as well as being a fast learner. Also, must develop working knowledge of ProPresenter and other media platforms, to ensure the completion of weekly technical plans. Will need to develop proficiency to lead volunteers when empowered to do so.
  • CAPACITY – prioritize work time to focus on ministry tasks/goals during a 20hrs/week role.

 

SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS

  • General knowledge of Windows and Mac operating systems
  • Interest in the production/tech side of running a weekly service.
  • Willingness to work with a variety of people and ministries.
  • Some knowledge of audio mixing preferred
  • Experience with Ableton, ProPresenter7, LightKey, Hog 4
  • Video editing experience with Final Cut Pro (or other non-linear editing platforms)

 

The intern will report to the College Ministry Pastor / Internship Director, Mark Stroupe, but will primarily work with the CRF Tech team. During work hours, the intern will be expected to be on arrive on time and be a team player. 

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES / KEY PROJECTS

  • Installation of systems and equipment with supervision of Tech dept
  • Troubleshooting of A/V equipment with supervision Tech dept
  • Assist in running production elements for Sunday morning services
  • Creating plans in ProPresenter 7
  • Audio mixing live services
  • Studio mixing in Ableton
  • Creating and executing stage lighting using Hog 4 and LightKey
  • Video camera operations
  • Video editing in Final Cut Pro
  • Working with and training volunteers 
  • Stage design and implementation

 

INTERNSHIP WORKFLOW - 20hrs/week

WEEKDAYS (M/W/Th, approx. 9am – 2pm) – 15 hours

  • Arrive at designated time
  • Check in with Mark Stroupe 
  • Check with Tech/AV team for task or project updates // Continue work for ongoing assignments
  • Attend Tech/AV Team meetings

 

WEEKDAY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Progression and completion of Key Goals and Key Projects as assigned by Tech/AV team lead
  • Attend service run-through when assigned

 

SUNDAYS (8am – 1pm) – 5 hours

  • Arrive on site by 8am, unless otherwise directed by Tech/AV team lead
  • Check in with Tech/AV team lead for any changes to assignments.
  • Execute all tasks that are assigned.

 

MONTHLY MTGS WITH INTERNSHIP DIRECTOR (Mark Stroupe, Internship Director)

  • 1 mtg to for brief check in
  • 1 mtg to join with other interns in the CRF Internship Program for encouragement, review of what is being learned, and how it all relates to the reality of ministry
