Founding Business Development Intern
Founding Business Development Intern
SnapMatePhoto · Remote, US · 6 months · 10 to 15 hrs/week · Commission-based · Academic credit available
We are looking for someone to open a new revenue line for us from scratch.
SnapMatePhoto connects people to vetted local photographers for the moments that matter. Graduations, family portraits, maternity shoots, headshots, engagements. Traditional photography prices most people out, with a single session running $300 to $800. On our platform, sessions start at $35 an hour and booking takes minutes instead of a week of email.
Over 300 photographers work with us today. We are live in Seattle and Los Angeles, and part of the University of Washington Buerk Center Accelerator.
The role
Almost everything we do today serves individuals booking a session for themselves. The bigger opportunity is organizations that need photography over and over:
- A growing company that needs headshots every time they hire
- A nonprofit running several events a year
- A real estate brokerage listing homes every month
- A university program photographing hundreds of graduating students
Each of those is worth many times a single consumer booking, and they come back. We have never gone after them systematically.
You will. You will pick the segments worth chasing, build the outreach, get decision-makers on the phone, and close deals with the founder's support. Most sales internships are list research and data entry. You will be on calls with business owners in your first month.
Day to day:
- Research target segments and test them against real responses
- Build account lists from scratch
- Write and test your own outreach by email, LinkedIn, phone, and in person
- Run discovery calls and pitch our B2B offering
- Close deals and own the relationship afterward
- Keep the pipeline accurate in our CRM
- Tell us weekly what is working, what is dead, and what you are changing
You will have a standing weekly call with the founder for the full six months.
AI is part of the job
We are small and we expect leverage. You should be using AI to do the work of a whole sales team: researching accounts, building lists, personalizing outreach at volume, prepping calls, keeping the CRM clean, and working out what is actually converting.
Who you are
- Current student or recent graduate, any major
- Comfortable talking to strangers, including people far more senior than you
- Can be told no repeatedly and reach out again anyway
- Write clearly. Most of this job is written first and spoken second.
- Use AI as a real part of how you work, and can show us what you built with it
- Self-directed. Nobody will be assigning you tasks each morning.
Sales experience helps but is not required.
