SECS Micro-Intern: Academic Research
Position is part of the Micro-internship program in the School of Engineering and Computer Science
Must be Freshman or Sophomore Standing
- The role will include a research project in the Mechanical Engineering Department.
- The project will support the development and analysis of a system-level model for a closed-loop oxygen recovery cycle for space life-support applications.
- Working with a graduate student mentor, the student will run parametric simulations, organize and analyze model outputs, generate plots and performance maps, and help document the computational workflow.
- The project will provide experience with engineering modeling, data analysis, and Python-based scientific computing; prior space-systems experience is not required.
Duration: 4 weeks, approximately 5–7 hours per week (20–30 hours total).
