CROSSROADS FELLOWSHIP WORSHIP ARTS Intern Position

 

JOB DESCRIPTION (20hrs/week)

The Worship Arts intern will assist the Worship department at Crossroads Fellowship across both campuses to ensure that all missions focused goals are accomplished. They will work with the Worship Arts leadership team to create and execute goals. Additionally, this will be a vital role that offers the opportunity to (1) provide critical administrative support, and leadership support, to the Worship Arts department, and (2) to provide significant opportunity for the intern to gain valuable ministry experience. This will include experience in managing multiple priorities, leading volunteers, and learning from current leaders.

 

Moreover, this intern will be an integral part of our team, assisting in the planning and execution of weekend worship experiences, staff meetings, and ministry events. This includes managing communication to team members via Planning Center, multimedia presentation via ProPresenter, leading rehearsals and participating in our weekend experiences. The intern will be expected to bring enthusiasm and dedication to this role where their input and fresh ideas will be valued, as we encourage them to contribute to our ongoing innovation and enhancement of our worship experiences. Throughout their internship, they can expect mentorship, guidance, and a nurturing environment to facilitate their personal and professional growth. Together, we will craft inspiring and meaningful worship experiences that resonate deeply with our community. 

 

EXPECTATIONS

The internship position will function to aid the individual in personal challenge, and growth, in the following area:

  • CHRIST – Show evidence of Christ at work in your life and display a willingness to talk about it.
  • CHARACTER – carry out tasks, and pursue goals, with a high character that is modeled after that of Jesus Christ.
  • CHEMISTRY – Demonstrate authenticity, be full of grace and truth, and be able to bond with the current team. 
  • COMPETENCY – Must be able to connect relationally with the team, CRF staff, and CRF attenders. Will need to have strong communication skills and follow-through on assignments, as well as being a fast learner. Also, must develop working knowledge of ProPresenter and other media platforms, to ensure the completion of weekly technical plans. Will need to develop proficiency to lead volunteers when empowered to do so.
  • CAPACITY – prioritize work time to focus on ministry tasks/goals during a 20hrs/week role.

 

SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS

  • General knowledge of Windows and Mac operating systems (i.e. for… Planning Center, ProPresenter, etc.)
  • Interest in the intentional development of worship sets for weekly services and special events.
  • Willingness to work with a variety of people and ministries.
  • Some knowledge of audio mixing preferred
  • Abilitiy to lead, and motivate, team
  • Expereinced with Logic, Abelton, and basic recording software

 

The intern will report to the College Ministry Pastor / Internship Director, Mark Stroupe, but will primarily work with the CRF Worship Department leadership team. During work hours, the intern will be expected to be on arrive on time and be a team player. 

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES / KEY PROJECTS

  • Music directing – leading the band (internal – creation, technical aspect, rehearsals, directing during serving, facilitating band communication)
  • Scheduling worship team members/volunteers via Planning Center and Assist in development of worship sets elements for Sunday morning services
  • Assisting in planning (creating and executing worship sets), and attending, worship practices
  • Gaining experience in song writing
  • Training on all worship technology platforms such as Logic, Abelton, and basic recording software
  • Creating plans in ProPresenter 7
  • Working with, and training volunteers, by building relationships
  • Learn effective methods for discipling, and mentoring, others (volunteers), and leading team devotionals when asked

 

INTERNSHIP WORKFLOW - 20hrs/week

WEEKDAYS (M/W/Th, approx. 9am – 2pm) – 15 hours

  • Arrive at designated time
  • Check in with Mark Stroupe 
  • Check with Worship Arts Leadership team for task or project updates // Continue work for ongoing assignments
  • Attend Worship Arts meetings

 

WEEKDAY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Progression and completion of Key Goals and Key Projects as assigned by the Worship Arts leadership team 
  • Attend service run-through each week

 

SUNDAYS (8am – 1pm) – 5 hours

  • Arrive on site according to time designated by Worship Arts leadership team 
  • Check in with Worship Arts leadership team for any changes to assignments
  • Execute all tasks that are assigned.

 

MONTHLY MTGS WITH INTERNSHIP DIRECTOR (Mark Stroupe, Internship Director)

  • 1 mtg to for brief check in
  • 1 mtg to join with other interns in the CRF Internship Program for encouragement, review of what is being learned, and how it all relates to the reality of ministry
