Communications Associate

The Opportunity

Fourddo is seeking a creative Communications Associate to support our efforts in telling stories that matter, amplifying youth voices, and building digital campaigns that spark real change. This is an excellent opportunity for a student interested in digital communications, creative storytelling, social media strategy, or nonprofit media work to gain hands-on experience in a youth-led organization.

This is an unpaid, part-time fall internship (approximately 12–16 hours per week) with flexible scheduling to accommodate your academic calendar. This role is ideal for someone who is creative, strategic-minded, and passionate about using media to drive social impact.

About the Role

As a Communications Associate, you will support Fourddo’s efforts to amplify youth voices and campaign narratives across digital and social platforms. You will work alongside our creative and strategy teams on content creation, social media campaigns, storytelling, and digital assets. This role is perfect for someone who understands the power of authentic youth narrative and wants to build campaigns that resonate.

Key Responsibilities

Content Creation & Digital Storytelling

  • Develop compelling social media content (captions, graphics, video scripts) that amplifies youth voices and social causes
  • Write, edit, and refine campaign narratives, blog posts, and digital storytelling pieces
  • Help create storytelling frameworks for social justice and mental health initiatives
  • Contribute creative ideas for campaign themes, messaging, and audience engagement
  • Research and gather information for campaign development

Social Media Strategy & Management

  • Assist in developing social media content strategy and calendars across platforms (Instagram, TikTok, Twitter, LinkedIn)
  • Create and schedule social media content
  • Monitor engagement, respond to comments, and track campaign performance metrics
  • Analyze social media trends and suggest content ideas
  • Help grow community and foster authentic conversations online

Video & Visual Content Production

  • Assist with filming, editing, and organizing video content for campaigns
  • Help develop video concepts and scripts for storytelling
  • Support production of testimonials, behind-the-scenes content, and campaign videos
  • Create or source graphics, visuals, and multimedia assets
  • Help maintain and organize the Fourddo digital asset library

Campaign Support & Digital Mobilization

  • Support the planning and execution of digital campaigns
  • Help develop digital calls-to-action and mobilization strategies
  • Assist with campaign tracking and performance measurement
  • Support grassroots digital organizing efforts
  • Contribute to campaign announcements and communications

Creative Collaboration & Research

  • Collaborate with youth leaders and campaign partners on creative direction
  • Research communication trends and best practices in social justice and youth engagement
  • Help develop talking points and messaging documents
  • Contribute to brand consistency and voice guidelines
  • Support communications across Fourddo’s initiatives

What We’re Looking For

Required Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled student or recent graduate (age 18–25)
  • Strong writing skills with an authentic, compelling voice
  • Familiarity with social media platforms and digital culture
  • Creative thinking and ability to develop original content ideas
  • Attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Ability to work independently and learn new tools quickly
  • Passionate about social justice, mental health, or youth empowerment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with content creation, social media management, or digital marketing
  • Familiarity with video editing tools (CapCut, Adobe Premiere, DaVinci Resolve, etc.) or graphic design (Canva, Figma, Adobe Creative Suite)
  • Understanding of social movements, activism, or youth-led organizing
  • Experience with TikTok, Instagram, or emerging social platforms
  • Knowledge of mental health, equity, or creative expression topics
  • Previous nonprofit or mission-driven communications work
  • Photography or videography skills

Internship Details

Commitment: Fall 2026 (approximately 5–10 hours per week; flexible scheduling)
