Long-Term Substitute Math Teacher - High School

The Mt. Lebanon School District has an immediate need for a Long-Term Substitute Math Teacher at Mt. Lebanon High School for the remainder of the first semester of the 2026-2027 school year.
This is a full-time, on-site, temporary vacancy, through January 14, 2027, teaching courses in Algebra and Geometry.
Due to the length of the assignment, this position will be eligible for the degree level daily rate for step 1 of the teachers salary schedule with rates starting at $297 per day depending upon credential.
This position will not be eligible for paid time off or district subsidized health benefits.
Required:
- Active Instructional Certificate from the Pennsylvania Department of Education in Mathematics 7-12, or
- Applicants with pending certifications through the PA Department of Education may be considered with college/university placeholder letter stating completion of a PDE approved teacher preparation program and evidence of passing scores on certification examinations, or
- Individuals with a minimum of a Bachelors degree in mathematics with instructional experience may be considered for emergency certification

In order to be eligible for employment, the following clearances must be furnished and approved for hire at time of job offer:
- Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance (Act 151)
- Pennsylvania State Police Criminal Record Check (Act 34)
- FBI Federal Criminal History Record (Act 114)
The following additional trainings and forms are required upon hire:
- Act 126 Child/Student Abuse Recognition and Reporting
- Arrest or Conviction Form (PDE 6004) (Act 24)
- School Personnel Health Record (Physical with TB Test)
- Sexual Misconduct/Abuse Disclosure Information (Act 168)
