We are looking for a Legal Intern to support legal research, document preparation, compliance organization, contract review, and internal policy development as the company continues to grow.
Responsibilities
The Legal Intern may assist with:
- Reviewing and organizing company legal documents, agreements, contracts, NDAs, offer letters, and onboarding documents
- Supporting legal research related to startups, employment, internships, intellectual property, privacy, data protection, AI, biotech, and wellness technology
- Assisting with drafting, editing, and formatting legal templates, internal forms, policies, and compliance documents
- Helping maintain organized legal records and document tracking systems
- Supporting contract review by identifying key terms, deadlines, obligations, risks, and missing information
- Assisting with internal compliance procedures related to confidentiality, company property, onboarding, offboarding, and access control
- Researching general legal and regulatory considerations for AI, health technology, software, data use, and business operations
- Coordinating with HR, leadership, and team members when legal documents need to be created, corrected, signed, or filed
- Preparing summaries of legal issues, agreements, or research findings for internal review
- Supporting other legal, administrative, and compliance-related tasks as needed
Qualifications
We are looking for candidates who:
- Are current students, recent graduates, or early-career professionals in Law, Legal Studies, Pre-Law, Business Law, Compliance, Public Policy, Political Science, or a related field
- Have strong writing, research, reading, and analytical skills
- Are detail-oriented, organized, responsible, and able to handle confidential information professionally
- Can review documents carefully and identify inconsistencies, missing information, or unclear language
- Are comfortable working remotely and communicating through email, Slack, and online meetings
- Have an interest in startups, AI, biotech, digital health, intellectual property, privacy, employment law, or technology law
- Can work independently, follow instructions, and complete tasks by deadlines
Preferred Skills
- Experience reviewing contracts, legal documents, policy documents, or compliance materials
- Familiarity with NDAs, employment/internship agreements, offer letters, IP agreements, privacy policies, or terms of service
- Strong ability to summarize complex information clearly
- Experience with Google Workspace, Microsoft Word, PDF editing, spreadsheets, or document management tools
- Interest in AI regulation, healthcare compliance, privacy, data protection, or startup law
Internship-to-Hire Pathway
This position is structured as an internship-to-hire opportunity. The internship period itself is unpaid. Strong performers may be considered for future paid, extended, or leadership opportunities depending on individual performance, company needs, available roles, funding status, and operational growth. Future employment is not guaranteed.
