π¨ Turn Imagination Into Something Real
We're looking for an enthusiastic Clay Sculpting Instructor to introduce students to the creative world of clay through hands-on projects, experimentation, and artistic expression.
You'll guide students as they explore basic sculpting techniques, shapes, textures, and forms while creating their own clay artwork. The goal isn't perfect artworkβit's giving students the freedom to create, experiment, and feel proud of what they make.
You don't need to be a professional artist or experienced classroom teacher. If you enjoy clay, ceramics, sculpting, or hands-on art and love helping young people discover their creativity, you may be a great fit.
Curriculum guidance and instructional materials are provided, giving you a structured foundation while allowing you to bring your own creativity and teaching style to each class.
π― What You'll Do
- Lead fun, hands-on clay sculpting sessions for students
- Introduce basic techniques such as shaping, molding, pinching, rolling, and texturing
- Guide students through creative, age-appropriate sculpting projects
- Demonstrate techniques clearly and break projects into manageable steps
- Help students turn their ideas and imagination into physical creations
- Encourage experimentation and individual artistic expression
- Use creative challenges and activities to keep students engaged
- Adapt projects to different ages, abilities, and experience levels
- Encourage students to learn through experimentation and trial and error
- Create a welcoming, inclusive, and supportive creative environment
- Provide positive feedback and celebrate student progress
- Promote safe and responsible use of art materials and classroom tools
- Maintain an organized and positive classroom environment
- Communicate professionally with program coordinators and school staff
- Arrive prepared, dependable, and ready to create
π What We're Looking For
You don't need to be a professional sculptor or traditional teacher. We're looking for someone who can make clay and art approachable, fun, and exciting for young learners.
You may be a great fit if you have:
- Experience or familiarity with clay, sculpting, ceramics, pottery, or hands-on art
- A genuine passion for creativity and artistic expression
- Patience and enthusiasm when working with children
- Ability to demonstrate techniques clearly and simply
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Comfort leading hands-on group activities
- Creativity, flexibility, and an encouraging personality
- An understanding of basic art-material and classroom safety
- Reliability, professionalism, and a positive attitude
- Willingness to follow provided curriculum while bringing your own creativity
Teaching experience is a plus, but not required. Experience in ceramics, sculpture, visual arts, art education, tutoring, camps, youth programs, mentoring, or related creative fields is helpful.
Artists, ceramicists, sculptors, art students, art educators, makers, pottery enthusiasts, college students, recent graduates, aspiring teachers, and creative hobbyists are all encouraged to apply.
