Position: Part-Time | In-Person

🎨 Bring Creativity to Life

We're looking for an enthusiastic Clay Sculpting Instructor to introduce young learners to the creative world of clay through hands-on projects, experimentation, and artistic expression.

You'll guide students as they learn basic clay techniques, explore shapes and textures, and create their own sculptures and artwork. The focus is on creativity, exploration, and having fun—not creating perfect artwork.

You don't need to be a professional artist or experienced classroom teacher. If you enjoy working with clay, making things, and helping children explore their creativity, you may be a great fit.

Curriculum guidance and instructional materials are provided, giving you a helpful structure while allowing you to bring your own ideas, personality, and creativity to each class.

🎯 What You'll Do

  • Lead fun, hands-on clay sculpting sessions for young learners
  • Introduce basic clay techniques such as shaping, molding, pinching, rolling, and texturing
  • Guide students through age-appropriate sculpting projects
  • Demonstrate techniques clearly and break projects into simple steps
  • Encourage students to experiment with different shapes, textures, and designs
  • Help students turn their ideas and imagination into physical creations
  • Encourage creativity and individual artistic expression
  • Adapt projects and instruction to different ages, abilities, and skill levels
  • Encourage students to explore and learn through trial and error
  • Create a positive, inclusive, and supportive creative environment
  • Provide encouragement and celebrate student progress
  • Promote safe and responsible use of art materials and classroom tools
  • Maintain an organized and welcoming classroom environment
  • Communicate professionally with program coordinators and school staff
  • Arrive prepared, dependable, and ready to create

🌟 What We're Looking For

You don't need to be a professional sculptor or traditional teacher. We're looking for someone who can make art approachable, fun, and exciting for young children.

You may be a great fit if you have:

  • Experience or familiarity with clay, sculpting, ceramics, or hands-on art
  • A genuine interest in art and creative activities
  • Patience and enthusiasm when working with children
  • The ability to demonstrate techniques clearly
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Comfort leading hands-on activities with young learners
  • Creativity and an encouraging personality
  • An understanding of basic classroom and material safety
  • Reliability, professionalism, and a positive attitude
  • Willingness to follow provided curriculum while bringing your own creativity

Teaching experience is a plus, but not required. Experience in ceramics, sculpture, visual arts, art education, tutoring, camps, youth programs, mentoring, or related creative fields is helpful.

Artists, ceramicists, sculptors, art students, art educators, makers, college students, recent graduates, aspiring teachers, and creative hobbyists are all encouraged to apply.
