Marketing And Production Intern
The Company
In Progress is a boutique experiential production and creative agency based in Los Angeles. We develop and produce events, activations, and campaigns for clients including LACMA, Natural History Museum, SEGA, Dropbox, The Lucas Museum, The Getty, Atlantic Music Group, and Warner Music Group. Our work sits where music, art, entertainment, and brand marketing meet.
The internship
This is a mentored, semester-long role reporting directly to our owner. You will see how an independent agency develops, pitches, and produces experiential work for major entertainment and tech brands, and you will contribute to that work in ways that build a portfolio. Depending on your interests, projects may include researching venues, vendors, and cultural trends for upcoming productions; drafting social and marketing copy; helping build client presentations and recap decks; sitting in on client and vendor calls; and joining us on site at live events to watch a production come together. Weekly check-ins and feedback sessions are built into the role, and we schedule around your classes.
Structure
Hours: 10 to 15 per week minimum, flexible around your course schedule.
Location: Primarily remote, with in-person days for events and team sessions in Los Angeles
Duration: Fall 2026 semester, through early December
Supervisor: Paul, Owner (direct mentorship throughout)
Credit and compensation
The internship is designed for academic credit. We will complete any paperwork your school or department requires, including learning objectives and supervisor evaluations. Interns receive a $1,000 honorarium for the semester, paid in monthly installments, to help cover internet, phone, and transportation expenses. The role also works on a not-for-credit basis for students past their enrollment deadline.
Who should apply
Current students in communication, public relations, marketing, or related programs. Curiosity about live events and entertainment matters most, along with comfort with Google Workspace and general-use AI tools and reliability when working remotely. Strong interest in music, art, or brand experiences counts for more than prior internship experience.
How to apply
Send a resume and a short note about what you want to learn this semester through Handshake. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis and we want someone to start right away. Students planning to enroll for fall credit should apply by September 8.
